Wolverine PF Exclusive for $2,000????

I noticed two unusual sales for the Wolverine PF Exclusive as we were processing updates for our Sideshow Premium Format Sales Report.

Historically, The Wolverine PF Exclusive has sold for an average of $375 since its release until the end of April. Here are the most recent sales we’ve recorded on the report for April & May:

Wolverine - Exclusive 270738569233 2011-04-23 $350.00
Wolverine - Exclusive 110673971920 2011-04-18 $399.99
Wolverine - Exclusive 220767912890 2011-04-17 $439.00
Wolverine - Exclusive 360358575552 2011-04-10 $449.99
Wolverine - Exclusive 280651764197 2011-04-05 $358.99
Wolverine - Exclusive 150581598355 2011-03-25 $399.99
Wolverine - Exclusive 280639062478 2011-03-10 $386.00
Wolverine - Exclusive 330534663124 2011-03-02 $305.51

The first sale for this month was at $499, which was a new high, but certainly reasonable as it has sold as high as $450 previously. The next day, another one sold at auction for an insane $2,025 sales price! The auction looked legit, although the seller had a feedback below 50, but all of the buyers had high feedback scores. A week later, the next auction ended at $1,025. A more reasonable price, but still almost triple the historical average from the last 6 or 7 months.

Looking closer, it looks like the same buyer had the winning bid for both auctions and placed them within a few minutes of each other.

It's hard to believe that a serious buyer would place two $1,000+ bids on the same item within a few minutes of each other. Either the buyer's account was stolen or the buyer is trying to artificially inflate prices.

For now, we have recorded the sales transactions in the Sideshow Premium Format Sales Report, but will likely remove them unless the sales are authenticated. For more details and to view the original sales transaction, please visit our report page at: https://www.MyAuctionReports.Com

$1,025?? $2,025??? One must be really insane to spend that much...on this. Don't think it was real.

I was keeping an eye on these myself... can't imagine these are legit. I'm sure Wolvie will increase in value over the years, but this seems to be an insane price jump. I also noticed a "buy it now" (from Europe) for about $500 at the same time these two were for sale . Why would you not just purchase that instead of spending a few thousand more... sounds pretty shady.

It's fake, that is for sure, one seller own many account, and sold the statues and cancel the auction, both buyer and seller can leave feedback.

i am watching some auctions on ebay and the lowest price for this is 900 dollars...are they kidding???

What's wrong with this being $900 when other statues have sold for as much if not more? Only people that should be mad are the ones that didn't get the statue when it was released or got into the hobby too late. Otherwise you should be happy as an owner if the price jumps that high.

Ebay sellers are very serious people, they are not kidding! I once wrote j/k in an email to a seller and got haterated!

The only problem is that no one is actually paying over $900 for this statue, because those auctions are clearly shills. I own it, and it would be nice if it was worth five times what I paid, but it just doesn't make any sense. Maybe its value is approaching $400-500, but $1,500? Give me a break.

come on!!i do like wolverine, but the pf does not exceeds the 550 dollars imo.
