Well this was clearly meant to have a very different tone than the first movie, and be a throwback to the more innocent and uncynical 80's style of superhero movie, so I assumed people were already aware of that.

Oh yeah, WW2 is helping me to remember those times...

I like that Patty changed it up, i hope the 3rd film is different all over again in tone.

Really, quality figures is all I am looking for. Sure, this movie was inconsistent and at times felt more like Adam West produced it, but even a stinky movie won't stop me from potentially getting a decent WW figure.

Haven't seen it yet...but maybe she's like Lucas and needs someone to say 'No!' ...

The movie just did not make any sense from a plot perspective. The golden armor itself was meaningless. She already knew how to fly before hand and the way she used the armor did not connect to her background story on the previous user of the armor.

I bet it was brought in for merchandising, and Patty thought it was ridiculous, so she barely gave it any screen time. Look how much advertising is based on the armor, and the need for WW to have something new to sell toys and collectibles.

I hope they take Star Wars from her after this. There's no way she can handle that.

I won't be cancelling any pre-orders, but the movie just wasn't good. All the actors did everything right. But the story, the pacing, the direction just were all off. Ultimately it had no stakes. All that said, it looked great. The golden armor was a treat.

Gal is really showing her limits. Every emoting scene just seems like she can't express it correctly. I'm screaming on the inside for her to just express what the dialog is saying. Most notably when she talks to Steve in the hotel, that there's got to be a better way.

Most of her expressions were either neutral or frustrated despite what the scene needs. All her serious scenes have the same angry eyebrow. Why was she so angry at Barbra about letting Max borrow the stone?? The line didn't call for that kind of delivery. I can't feel any emotions when she's acting, even in WW1.

I agree about the merchandising for the golden Eagle suit, it's like iron man and every other marvel character having to have a different look to sell more toys. Wonder woman has barely changed anything in the decades that she's meant to have been around, they could have changed her regular outfit

The current outfit is already so perfect I wouldn't want it changed. If they have to give her something new I'd rather it be something like this golden armor, which I thought they justified well enough given she clearly needed the extra protection against Cheetah.

Agreed, I had no problem with her performance and thought she had some really powerful moments here and there.

Gal is pretty meh in this movie. She looks the part and can be carried through some scenes, but for a cheesy flick like this its tolerable. She kind of reminds me of Jerry Seinfeld acting wise, where there are couple of things she can do, but some emotions she cannot convey well to film. That is why you have a good cast to carry you.

But I mean she didn't get the role because of her acting, they had an incredibly specific look they were going for and she fit it to a T.

She was okay in both her Wonder Woman movies, and I only cringed a few times at her acting in this one.

Chris Pine was pretty good. Not a lot to work with, but guy always delivers even with not great material.

Same with Pedro. I mean his character was iffy, but if anything I think his acting helped elevate a weak villain to some more interesting. The most I was familiar with him was the Mandalorian, but he had a few scenes hear that showed some good range. I was like okay, I could see myself watching him in more movies.

Kristen Wig was meh, but I think that is more the role. She got a decent amount of time, but I think that hurt the development we needed from Pedro's character (his backstory was rushed at the very end.) She kind of needed to be cut for more Pedro, who needed to be fleshed out more But the friggin green screen was reflecting off her glasses like the whole time. COME ON!!!! Once you notice it, you can't unsee it.

Overall, I give the movie 5/10

I thought when she had to say goodbye to Steve Trevor again was very well done. I felt it and felt very sad when that happened. And I could feel the joy she felt showing him around about how things have changed. To me, her time with Steve Trevor were the better parts of the film.

They never showed us the world building for Diana for the past x amount of years since losing Trevor. I feel like it would have helped more. Also Cheetah needed more time. Maxwell shouldn’t have been used.

I would vote the opposite. Cheetah felt more generic and the classic 'ugly girl becomes hot' teen movie thing. But Maxwell had something interesting going on, but the motivation was not fleshed out, except for a quick min update at the end. The cheetah fight was the worst part of the movie to me, as it was CGI battle (and not very good CGI.) But Maxwell ending was trying to do something different, more emotional, a little more adult, even if the plot felt eventually like it ripped of Kingsman.

When there is a good story, acting, logic and characterization most of us don't mind the CGI battles. When it is thrown in and uses subpar CGI, it really sticks out. But a CGI battle does not make a good movie, and in some cases might hurt it.

Good call on WW84 reminding you of Superman IV.
About the 3/4 mark my mind kept recollecting all of the abysmal comic adaptations of decades past; Catwoman, Steel, Spawn, Batman and Robin, and the aforementioned Superman IV. All of them mishandlings of properties by filmmakers who were either ignorant of the source material, producers out to make a quick buck, or were just lousy directors. WW84 seems to be a return to such drivel. I'm kind of glad it wound up on streaming rather than theaters. Quite frankly, it doesn't deserve it.

I gotta say, I really thought more people would get a kick out of the cheesier 80s style like me, and something that had a very different tone from the first movie, but I guess not. Clearly that was a big miscalculation by Jenkins. Or she just didn't do a good enough job preparing people for it.
