Man that really ruined thatt twist for me, it would have been a great twist, the angry red skull wasn't the main villain? It was the well intentioned, peace talker, kind faced old brttish dude?

Man **** those geek outlets.

I really dug Ares.

So, who did the old guy end up being? Anyone from the comic or was he just some random person using Poison's Super Soldier Inhalant?

Probably Bane's grandfather.

His character ruse on us the audience as sacrifice to the plot have truly made his scenes worthless during repeat viewings.

Oh well at least poison girl's plot sacrifice was well utilized and won't suffer on repeat viewings.

The way Ares was respresented (the old dude) was a great choice, his calmness made him a pretty scary dude.

He's their version of the actual WW1 German general.
I don't think he was used for any comic book.

Wonder Woman - 6.5/10 Met the higher end of my expectations.

All around weak acting from Gal Gadot and weaker action, but everything else was good, humor was natural, some jokes didn't land, supporting characters were good, David Thewlis and Chris Pine were my favorites.

No, it's not better than BvS, not by a long shot, not in story, not in cinematography, not in action, not in score, nothing, nada, it's more feelgood, which some, less discerning, may have confused with better quality, it isn't.
I love you!

I'd say this is a CA:TFA in WWI, no better and no worse really, maybe a bit more substance than CA.
I hate you...

I haven't seen this yet so I don't want to read through the thread. How was the 3D? Worth it or pass?

I kind of figured the old British dude was up to no good when the camera staid on him while Trevor's secretary was talking to him on the phone. Whenever the camera gives a character too much attention they are either part of the twist or a sacrifice of the story.

EVEN when they
specifically showed him at the bar to fund their secret mission I still didn't figure it out lol

I'm what they call a tad slow lol

If I didn't know the twist beforehand (yes, I like to spoil things to myself sometimes) I'd still think the German general is Ares and the British politician is on his payroll. I actually expected them not to include Ares at all and just be like "people are evil and gods don't exist".

Agreed, that camera is a dead give-away.

Even though WW has a 93% or whatever on RT if you look at the average score everyone gave it was about a 7.8/10 or something. So it isn't like everyone is literally scoring it 93/100 or anything. It's just that 93% of all reviews are favorable.

I think that it's very respectable for it to be side by side with STM, Batman 89, and CA:TFA. Or even Spider-Man (2002.) Every single one of those films is a mixed bag to varying degrees but that still won over the majority of critics and fans. And that's exactly what WW did. I think that even though the universes aren't connected it makes a better "trilogy" with STM and B89 than it does as an entry in the DCEU. I nice little trio of Trinity debut films. I also like that Superman, Batman, and now Wonder Woman all have their own version of "nice outfit" with the 1978 pimp, Jack Napier, and Steve Trevor respectively. Another cool way that the three films sort of link together.

The fact that they seemingly broke DCEU continuity by NOT having WW end with Diana forsaking mankind (like she claimed she had done in BvS until Doomsday appeared) just makes it that much more of its own thing.
