You're right. It looks the negative feedback only remains if you get a refund for items never sent. I'm guessing if it's for "not as described" cases, it's considered a resolved issue after the refund.

it doesn't really matter whether a seller has a lot of negs cause he will still continue to sell and make money cause Ebay still allows it and people will still buy anyways. So in the end, giving a neg doesn't hurt any seller either way....

I don't know about that. Personally, if a seller has excessive negs, I won't buy from them. That's just asking for trouble.

Yeah...I've heard stories of buyers giving negatives for nitpicky things and not actual damages

True story, I received my only neg because the buyer was pissed I required signature conformation on his package. Idiot didn't know he could sign the back of the post-it-note the UPS driver left on his door and the driver would then have left his package at his front door on the next delivery attempt. He missed all 3 delivery attempts and was pissed he had to go pick up his package at a UPS facility so he left me a neg. Guy was a total douche.

There are a few ways negative feedback can effect sellers. Your statement is inaccurate bud

I disagree.

Experienced & savvy eBayers will check a seller's feedback profile and DSR ratings; if there's a history of poor service from the seller then savvy eBayers will avoid them.

I'm basically talking about the power sellers. Those guys can have 10,000+ positives and some average like 400-500 negatives in a year and for some bizarre reason, they will still have like a 99.7 or greater rating and people will not be concerned and still buy. Personally, i always buy according to feedback and look for that constant pattern that people are complaining about. I rather spend a little more with less likelihood of a problem then to get a few more dollars off of a product that could result in a problem.

Well whatever those few ways are, it's still not enough when you see pages and pages of negative FBs on power sellers. I think the best way to punish a bad seller would be to suspend the seller but they don't do that, he can continue to sell.

Power sellers that push out 15000 sales a months having a hundred negative feedback isn't that big a deal. I mean honestly read some of the feedback where people say "box had crease in corner" or "was delivered in rain and was wet" I mean come on. I myself look at feedback and when I see some shenanigans I avoid the seller. I am proof negative feedback affects sellers. Lastly sellers that do not ship out or do **** like that do get banned.

It's kind of funny how some people will post a picture of their collection and they're expecting to at least get a half-... good compliment, but instead people just can't control themselves and have to make a negative comment. I'm pretty sure the guy knows his Supes might have a problem, so he just needs to be reminded of it.
