At least it wasn't two little groups of people running in a field like Twilight. So I'll give that to Singer. "Better action than Twilight." Good job.
*ahem*
Teams running at each other was X-Men long before Twilight did it.
I think X Men will be a better film than Civil War, but CW will have better action. I always find the X Men films more interesting than the Marvel/Disney films. They also have better characters, better themes, and story...but they lack great action. As far as the bad looking cgi in the trailer, the same happened with the future scenes from DOFP. I remember people saying that the future scenes looked like Mortal Kombat Annihilation, but after all that criticism, the film was great. I'm surprised there's so much destruction in this X MEN film. Who or what is causing it?
X-Men has had good action but it's never been that "big".
It's best action scenes are usually one vs many. Nightcrawler vs Secret Service, Wolverine vs Stryker Troops, Quicksilver vs CIA. This looks like there'll be more team action with the X-Men vs the Horsemen.
The future action against the Sentinels was awesome imo. Best teamwork scenes thus far.
It's an X-Men movie, all destruction will just be reversed or its a vision of the fewcha.
The Missiles in the spot are bound to be from Jeans "end of the world" dream/vision.
X-Men and Cap have been cinematic rivals since 2011 and X-Men always wins, and from my understanding on most of the major rating sites the general audience rates X-Men better too
If Civil War outrates this it'll be a first for a Cap movie
X2 I won't count since it's before the MCU but I think that movie tends to get overlooked in the action department a lot, people forget how great the Mansion attack and Nightcrawler's introduction was.
That was chock-a-block full of great action.
It had the genre-best Nightcrawler vs CIA, Mansion attack, the Tornados,Mystiques unique martial arts and Wolverine vs Deathsryke.mthe only bad action scene was Cyclops vs Jean. Even small and quick scenes like Magneto blowing up a whole squad of Stryker troops by pulling the pins on their grenades were brilliant.
Saw the TV spot. Looks good. But already annoyed with J-Law's phoned in performance from the short snippets we've seen of her in these trailers.
Yeah she looks so bored and ungrateful. You can tell she's sick of franchises and is just doing it out of obligation at this point.
But it was mentioned in one of the films that Mystique ages really slow IIRC.
Hell Mystique could be 90 years old by now and make herself look like a Mid-twenties lady.
So after this trilogy has finish I'm presuming the next X-Men movies will essentially be a reboot as the story will pick up at the time of the original X-Men 2000 movie?
Not a reboot since that already happened. What likely will happen is they'll have the new Cyclops, Jean and Storm be the mains and move it forward to the nineties.
"First Class" was a reboot.
Then they've released "The Wolverine" which was set in the original continuity and f' it up.
Then they've released a "kinda reboot" film in the FC continuity with actors from original continuity to "make it official".
Original:
X-Men (2000) => X2 => The Last Stand => The Wolverine
FC:
First Class => Days of Future Past => Apocalypse

"Origins: Wolverine" is a mistake and so far we don't know where "Deadpool" fits.
This is pretty much a perfect summary of where things are.
Two timelines, we're occupying in the second one and anything is possible between 1973 and 2023 as long as Wolverine, Xavier, Jean, Storm, Rogue, Iceman, Kitty Pryde, Colossus and Beast are alive in (or killed at some point and ressurected by) 2023.
Deadpool takes place in 2016 of this new post-DOFP timeline. So it takes place after the events of Apocalypse but before Wolverine waking up in 2023 at the end of Days of Future Past.
Seeing how the present day timeline got nuked, I don't think it will.
Present day timeline is shown in the Deadpool movie, not nuked.
