I can't wrap my head around how come a guy who writes Thor like it's Conan the Barbarian and other old epic pulp fantasy macho stories, write stupid **** like that too.

I'm just gonna think he does it for the money so I can still respect him.

His Southern Bastards book is great as well, so yeah, I want to believe that he's doing it for dem monies. His Ghost Rider wasn't half bad as well. I mean, it did give us Blue-Flame Danny... The only upside of his Doctor Strange book is that Bachalo is drawing Magik in her old costume. Mmmmm Magik... Mmmm Hotpants...Mmmm Blonde Hair and Piercing Blue Eyes... Mmmm Boob Window... Mmmm Demon Powers...

Okay NOW I see why they got rid of thought balloons. :lol

No new stuff for me either, will just serve to taint my happy memories sitting in my attic.

Now I just go watch the movie versions of my collection even if all the stories are combined into a blendar for maximum profit and efficiency.

I ain't complaining.

Disney lover here, no problem admitting that.

Mostly feel the same way, but I feel forced into loving Disney.

Do you recall when exactly they got rid of all thought balloons?

From an artist's perspective I'm glad to see them go.

Man, when Fox wants Jackman to appear in an X-Men movie they really go all out, huh. :lol

So many characters deserve standalone movies over both of them, I would love to see a Namor or MoonKnight from Marvel, and Fox needs to get New Mutants and X-Force out there before they think about anything else. No X-Man or Brotherhood member deserve their own movies outside of Wolverine in my opinion, at least not until they're established in a team film and there's some sort of demand there.

I did like that Singer the at least hinted that the movie doesn't need Jennifer Lawrence though.

Besides New Mutants, X-Force and Gambit the other titles FOX should concentrate are:

-X-FORCE INVESTIGATIONS
-STARJAMMERS (already rumored)
-ALPHA FLIGHT
-EXCALIBUR

Is this what you're talking about:

I...don't hate it. :monkey3

Eh, that's not his best work. This one is far better:

I mean, come on. Hotpants? Check. Boob Window? Check. Hot-Teen Body? Check. Pale White Russian Skin, Piercing Blue Eyes and Platinum Blonde Hair? Check. Demon Powers? Check.

Magik is like that hot Anime Fan-Service ch- Yeah, you know what? I'm gonna shut up now...

But IMO, Magik >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Every other fictional female.

I probably prefer her in her basic X-Men jumpsuit (the blond hair and glowing sword are interesting enough visuals on their own) but I can understand the appeal of the above version. ;)

It's far too sexualized, I will agree. But it's got that Anime feel, and I like that quite a bit. Sure, I'd rather it be a bit more practical, but I love the big-ass sword and the armoured arm. It's a great design, even if a bit impractical. Still, it's her attitude that makes her a great character.

Getting back to X-Men, I almost never hear anyone mention Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men. I didn't read them but IIRC they were highly praised when they first came out. Anyone a fan?

Loved the entire run with the exception of the Danger issues. It got off track for me personally during just that story arc and I can't stand the character.

As of right now I think there's about an equal chance of Marvel working with Fox and they're already working with Sony. Supposedly Feige and the head of the television division have a lot of problems.

I don't think we'll see the Netflix characters show up in a movie in quite some times of ever.

Maybe I was dozing off, but I don't remember Magneto killing millions in this movie, I don't even remember it being implied.

There was a scene in a "war room" full with generals and there's a scientist explaining that the magnetic disturbances are the same as the one seen in Auschwitz, but on a global scale, and he says that the death toll will be in the millions.
The destruction in Cairo alone would be in the hundreds of thousands at the very least.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!

Alright, alright, I take that back... Magik, Emma Frost and Black Swan in a Three-Way Tie... What? It's all subjective man... Kidding aside, I do genuinely find them compelling and interesting characters, it's not just because of the "costumes". Another fave of mine is Xiaolin from East of West. Roku from Ninjak deserves a mention as well.

What about the classics? Sarah Connor, Ripley.... Kamala Khan?

Well, I was thinking mainly of comics, so yeah, good observation. Ripley and Sarah rank sbove them just through seniority, but comics being around for so long, the aforementioned ones are more fleshed out. Illyana being abducted by demons at ten or so and being raised in hell was a damn good story. In the end, it's all subjective though, and I will admit that the costumes play a big part in whether you like a character or not. As for Khamala, eh. I much prefer Miles as far as replacements go. As for teenagers, Cho is one of the best to be created in years. He was great in Pak's Hercules. And it's no small feat to write a super-genius kid who's actually interesting. For the other end of the spectrum, look at Moon Girl, who's a completely insufferable little twat.

Exactly, to be honest they need to scrap Gambit as well, and don't even think about a Mystique movie.

Ah, alright that puts things into perspective but did he actually do anything in Cairo? I only remember all the destruction coming at the hands of Apocalypse when he was making his little pyramid and Magneto was basically just standing there watching.
