So people that enjoyed CW because it was fun, it was thrilling, it was exciting, it was superheroes just being cool, they have bad taste?

So because it wasn't some "serious" drama that you have convinced yourself as being the only form a superhero movie needs to be it is just shallow nonsense?

Nah, what's nonsense is watching a movie called Civil War [that looked serious and dramatic in its trailers and posters] and learn that it has no war and very few opportunities for drama that still never pay off.

The movie had great potential for stakes and emotional weight, they just played it safe.

So its not about my taste being something and your taste being something else. Its about wasting an opportunity to make something great and instead opting out for popcorn.

Well, for me the movie was great.

I respect that.

I liked it. Saw it twice.

What bothers me is that I saw a better movie in there, that the MCU's signature of inconsequential solo films prevented from happening.

This is basically the equivalent of Nolan not killing Harvey Dent at the end of TDK and allowing a great story to feel complete in an effort to save Two Face for future sequels.

I figured they wouldn't kill Cap 30 minutes in when I realized this movie was more about Tony finally facing the man who killed his parents rather than facing Steve Rogers. Sadly, they robbed Tony of a massive victory and closure to 25 years of grief. Not to mention, Cap's psychological aftermath to seeing Tony kill Bucky would have completely destroyed that relationship. No apology letter could repair that.

SNIKT I admire your passion but much to learn you still have. You need a teacher. :lecture

Quick question for you, what was the first movie you ever saw in the theater? I'm thinking that it was probably something in the summer of '99 or perhaps even the first X-Men? I'm not asking so I can say "aha, I knew it!" We were all teenagers yacking away with friends in real life or online once and there's no shame in it.

SNIKT is definitely the Renfield type :lol

My point about Magneto and "lifting things" is that it ends up being the "money shots" that the films hang their hats on and they follow the old "bigger is better" sequel way of doing things... Granted it was not done so much in the first two though he did step up from Cars to the X-men stealth plane. Part three it was a bridge... FC was a Submarine, DOFP was a baseball stadium, and the last one was the whole planet. It's not that they are the main "plot points" to the film but there is a paint by numbers formula going on.

Does the Sun have any metal in it? Maybe the next film Magneto will bring the Sun and Earth closer together. Then Charles will forgive him at the end as well.

When we got to the last confrontation in Age of Ultron and Vision never even asked Ultron how old he was...
You're killin' me today!

Sadly, I have little doubt that the next X-Men movie will at the very least have Deadpool cameo. And more likely, will have him leading the damn team :lol

I believe it does have some Iron in it. More plausible is that Magneto will raise the iron content in people's body and they will become sick. He'll demand $100 billion zillion dollars from the government. The end of the movie will have a cool fight scene while Bawitdaba by Kid Rock plays in the background.

Nah, it's gotta be an early '90s song. And if we're going to the early '90s, there can only be one choice for a final battle theme.

There was a time you would hear this song on the pop radio station, the classic rock station, the alternative station, college radio, sports stations, religious AM radio, all at the same time. NEVER GETS OLD said no one.
