How did they make X-Men their franchise, last I watched FC, they were both absent, and FC proved to be highly rated because of the breath of fresh air.

And I am talking about themselves as actors are limited, look beyond the X-Men franchise.

Um... really?! They were the only names in the first film. Mcavoy and Fassbender weren't even on the radar back then. Everybody else was new (though Ian and Patrick would've been completely unscathed had it flopped - a testament to their skill and rep). :lol

And you want to know their credentials, swing by IMDb and look at their work, from the Royal Shakespeare Co., through epic Hollywood blockbusters. "Epic" is so often overused, but it perfectly applies to their perspective bodies of work. To say otherwise, is :cuckoo: :lol

Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, Anna Paquin all had recognition at that time. And I did look at their filmography, what is epic about it? I nothing but voices acting and flops their list. Look at Mcavoy’s and Fass’ credentials and they smoke them. Only thing is, they haven’t been knighted.

Not trying to say they are terrible actors, but they get more praise then they deserve. To me, guys like Kinsgley and Hopkins are far better, and actually have the credentials to back up that praise.

Only Halle had a career before the Xmen movie Anna didn't star in true blood yet Famke was a bond girl nothing special.

Ummm, Anna won an Oscar 5 years before that came out. Do some research. True Blood is the definition of what she shouldn’t be known for.

Everyone has their opinion so I won’t argue it, but I find them to be extremely overrated, and there is a reason FC was so good without the main big name X-Men in there.

Two reasons. Because the franchise was already WELL established, and after Origins, there was nowhere to go but up. :lol

The franchise was on the decline, and First Class was nothing like the previous films, even their version of Magneto and Professor X. The film didn’t just go up, it is arguably the best in the franchise, and it doesn’t have Wolverine as the main character.

Don't get me wrong, I think they're both very fine actors. I just never thought they were right for those parts, not that they weren't talented.

Hell, in a perfect world I would have loved to have seen Yul Brenner play Prof. X (if you were going for a bald guy) and a young Orson Welles playing Magneto, but that wasn't happening.

From Empire Magazine on Havok

As the cover says, he "absorbs cosmic energy and releases it in plasma blasts," and we learn in this one that Alex Summers has joined the army. He's one of several mutant soldiers who have agreed to be tested by Trask Industries as part of the program that eventually leads to the development of the Sentinels, hence the uniform we see here. I'm not sure about Empire's spelling, though. He's "Havoc" in the script.

questionable lifestyle quicksilver. who knows, maybe he's queer in this movie. he sure cant be magneto's son in that timeline. :dunno

Not at all, they are great stage actors, but they are extremely limited. I would love to know their filmography that proves they are so incredible? McKellan has LOTR, and Stewart has the Star Trek stuff, two franchises that didn’t really have the best acting. They are extremely overrated, and I guess it has something to do with them being knighted and being in big franchises.

Mcavoy, and Fassbender while still young, already have starred in great films, and have received several nominations. They aren’t doing voices in the Robot Chicken and such.

OMG......did you just say Stewart and McKellan are overrated and limited? :thud:
