Maybe they think it would come off too much as black face racism if they did. It wouldn't be an issue if they changed the character to African American and gave the black some kind of effect. But Singer would rather spend the dough on a giant robo-hairdryer statue.

If that's true, it's crazy, the whole black form thing and even Sunspot's back-story is a statement against racism itself, he is bi-racial after all, I had to look for the politically correct term :lol the one I was gonna say turns out wasn't PC :lol

Our list is pretty similar my friend

:duff:

The Wolverine Uncut didn't make a huge difference for me, the Ninja battle was actually still pretty lame.

But the movie is still somewhat enjoyable, but I was expecting the Uncut version to blow my socks off, unfortunately it didn't.

Train sequence was fun.

Still better than Origins though, much better.

The conundrum is, how do you do that and still market the hero (anti-hero) to children? In that respect I don't really envy them. Today's generation isn't like ours where we were getting badass toys of RoboCop, Rambo, Commando, etc., at Toys R Us, marketed directly to us through cartoons, comics, etc. They'd rather belittle and demonize anybody who comes up with that idea. Especially in this "progressive" environment where people are more concerned with telling us how we should live our lives.

I think the 80's were more progressive than now. Take Robocop for instance. At its core, it's an underdog story. Who doesn't love to see a quadripilegic amputee overcome his obstacles with the assistance of advanced prosthesis? Plus, it gave people a better view of the real world with its "villains." Oh, you want to destroy buildings? That's cool, but this guy blows people's arms off with shotguns, then kills his boss while he snorts coke out of a hooker's ****s.:lol

That character in your Avatar is what I think Wolverine should be like on film. Jackman's Wolverine is close but lacking the intimidation. The character also needs to be treated differently, he should be in the background not the central character and only come to the forefront when bad s*** goes down, exactly how Snake Eyes should be treated.

Berserker rage is what we haven't seen on film yet. That Wolvie can get so furious that he's a danger to everyone around him.

He's been at the forefront of Marvel's comic X-men for decades. He's also fronted pretty much all the X-Men cartoons. Not sure if he still does, but at one point, even lead the team when they split, with Cyclops taking the other half. Film-wise, it's wholly understandable as he's essentially the glue for the franchise, with his "immortality" allowing Jackman to seamlessly jump through all storylines from present, through future and even past, without them needing to recast the role and open that whole bag of worms. Keeps everything consistent and copacetic. As for the berserker rage, I do agree, but they've yet to do a storyline where that would play well, vs. appear campy.

Whilst not at the same level of rage as what we see in the comics, we do see a hint of Wolverine's beserker rage during the scene in X2 where Stryker's men invade the Mansion.

Thats what I said. That has been the closest thing we have gotten to Wolverine going beserk. The whole scene was great, loved how right before he killed that guy he saids "you picked the wrong house bub"

You really need a R rating to show Wolvie's true superpower, he should look like a gory car wreak still able to keep on fighting to convey just how powerful he is. I don't understand how the Walking Dead can get away with as much gore and violence on TV as it does and yet we can't see anything close to that in a Wolverine movie.

Well the Walking Dead isn't aimed at a children audience really. All the Marvel films are, it's their bread and butter. An R rated Wolverine film would go down as one of the greatest super hero films of all time... and it will never be made unfortunately.

I really wish they would give him a true Berserker rage in one of these films, with his eyes turning white and he runs right into a barrage of gun fire.

Closet we got to a R rated wolverine film is the extended cut of the wolverine.

The point was that the Walking Dead is on basic cable in primetime and they can show some very gory things and get away with it, the Wolverine couldn't even get close to that level of gore. Also I think WD gets it's fair share of teens watching it, a group I think The Wolverine was targeted at.

True, but I don't think a lot of little kids under 10 years old are watching it. I sure hope not :lol

During every production of a new Wolverine movie or Xmen movie you hear them say you will finally see his true Berserker Rage.

Yeah right. :lol

:lol ain't that the truth.

They could do the Beserker Rage for a scene and it would be awesome. Take The Wolverine. Instead of the lame Ninja fight we got, why not have Logan try to fight his way through, but he can't. Then as it looks like he's about to be taken down. There is the image of Jean. Telling him if he tries to use the man, he will die here. She says that only the beast can save him. The ninjas are surrounding him, and Logan gives in to his rage and instincts. Jackman gets to do the scream he loves to the heavens, Logan's eyes gloss over and we see the Beserker Rage vs Ninja fight. That was your moment. Ninjas are badass, lets see Logan get down and dirty. Just tearing through these guys. Then instead of the Silver Iron Monger fight, lets have a one on one fight with the Silver Samurai. And Logan must regain control and suppress the animal. SS is too skilled to fight that way. He must fight like a man. We get our rage, Wolverine is still the hero, and kiddos get to see a great film.

Where's my check Fox??

Not what I meant by "progressive." I digress, for the sake of saving this thread from a political flame war. :lol :wink1:

Basically, nowadays, too many people want to control how others live. :exactly:
