Like Nam, I think doing one movie about an alternate reality that the heroes have to stop from occurring, and then following it up with a film about another alternate reality that the heroes have to stop from occurring would be surprising. I can't see him going there, and in fact, I think it would be really dumb if he did.

Well, they did say what happens in this movie, sets up Apocalypse, and it would be more of a First Class sequel which means the OT would be apart of it as well. All of that sounds like another alternate reality time traveling movie.

That =/= Age of Apocalypse. I suspect, as is the case with DofP, you've never read AoP, which would mean, once again, you don't know what you're talking about. :lol So....

It would be like WB doing a Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Movie, then following it up with Zero Hour: the Movie. It would make sense if these were crappy '80s comedy franchises, because then Wolverine could humorously say "Here we go again!" in the trailers, and the audience would laugh as all the heroes get sucked into the wacky time vortex again and again.

Once again, I have read AOA, and DOFP. Obviously these movies are just taking the idea of them and not copying exactly what they were in the comics. With X-Force, Gambit, being set up soon, and possibly the Old trilogy coming back for Apocalypse, and Singer confirming that it isn’t just a First Class movie, AOA seems like the inspiration. Also some spoilers I read, if true, would indicate that could be the route they’re going.

I like you Nam, but you always seem so hostile when posting. You should try letting one out before posting on here everyday. It might calm you down.

I believe what Nam has been saying is that the next film will be the introduction to Apocalypse and the AOP storyline won't be present; more likely that the film that follows X-Men: Apocalypse will be based on Age of Apocalypse, making it at least a two part series.
Anyways, there's no way in hell that a single movie will perfectly capture the 30+ issue AOP storyline, it should be done as an epic Trilogy.

He can't help himself, Nam uses Eastwood as his avatar cause thats how he is in real life, hes yelling at those kids to get off his lawn, but he really wants to shoot them. :lol

You have a good point, no one except Snyder, Vaughan, and whoever directed the Crow has tried following a comic book that I can remember, so its not like they are going to do much more than lift pieces from the source mats; I sure as hell don't see Singer ever following source.

:lol Not hostile, just blunt. As I've said repeatedly, it would be stupid, blatantly stupid to do two alternate future timelines back-to-back. Common sense pretty much dictates that, but I guess you prove common sense isn't really all that common. That's not meant as a put down, just a practical observation based on your denial (or unwillingness) to see the forest for the trees. :lol

Your insults are great. I can’t deny that. I prefer that instead of the gifs, it fits your attitude a bit more.I can’t see Clint using gifs to get his point across. But those insults are pretty badass.

But what I’m saying is, knowing Singer, he doesn’t follow the comics that closely at all. He might take a ton of elements from AOA and make his own out of it. Just give up the hope that they will someday make that perfect comic book movie that rips everything off the comic’s pages, it won’t happen.

Apocalypse is the last movie I think they will have anyone signed. FC cast contract is up, and most of the old trilogy will be finished by DOFP. I think the he is going to combine elements from all things Apocalypse and make his own story out of it. I think it will be tough to make a 2 picture film and nobody is signed on for it.

That's where you gave yourself away, Nova. That stupid, consistent insistence that the reason we don't like what we're seeing is because we want 100% comic accuracy. It couldn't be further from the truth. The X-Men costumes would look ****ing stupid as hell on screen. Just as ****ing stupid as what Singer's doing making them all look like Blue Oyster Bar patrons. :lol

Yep, so sick of that critique. I don't want 100% comic accuracy. I want good design, inspired by what the comics did well (and discarding what they didn't). Singer's just delivered garbage, in terms of visual design, especially for the money. It looks uninspired and cheap.

I was speaking on about story, not design. Good job at deviating from that actual argument.

:exactly:

Vaughan didn't shy away from color in 1st class and there was no problem with it. He didn't try to make it look exactly like comic outfits which changed from artist to artist and over the years, but he did well repping those familiar black and yellow "uniforms" that pop up repeatedly throughout X history.

The more I think about an X-Men film not having Cyclops/Jean/Angel(arch) in it, the less it makes sense to start with. I hope Singer is able to pull a decent movie out of this, but I'm ready for DisMarv to take it back and give us the real founding members along with a good portion of the Giant-Size X-Men roster.

Then once again your accusation makes zero sense. The first X-Men films followed no comic, and I didn't have a problem with them. Last Stand was a bit weak, but still, it was far from horrid. Even Origins is fine with the exceptions of Gambit and Weapon XI. The story between Logan and Creed is about as good as movie X-Men gets. So at this point, you're the only one who really knows what you're talking about. :lol

Pretty funny video of Mcavoy and McKellen. Great to see the younger Charles and Erik are close in real life as well.
