I haven't seen that here on the boards.![]()
If he had a mirror in front of him, he would see "a lot of people suddenly bashing the franchise as a whole"? Do you mean like, the magic mirror from that Disney cartoon?Probably because you didn’t have a mirror in front of you when you were doing it![]()
This is a good point. Apart from C-listers like Blade and Punisher, X-Men was the first time we saw major Marvel characters on the screen, and so it was the first time I saw any of them that I really cared about that way. I had to drive about 30 minutes to get to a theater that was playing it, and was overjoyed seeing Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, and the others there. I did recognize some of its flaws right away, but you're totally right that this movie deserves to be appreciated for showing us that an A-list franchise didn't have to be overly simplistic or campy like most comic movies to that point.Who wasn't overjoyed that Marvel was finally getting the ball rolling on their major characters?

Yeah - agreed. It had its flaws, for sure. But even with Sabretooth, when he first attacked Wolverine and Rogue, I geeked out a bit.
Yeah - agreed.
Also, when my buddy & I first saw X1 in the cinema, the first time Sabretooth appeared, we instinctively looked at each other & said - "JAMES HETFIELD!"![]()
