Costumes have never been very inspired so no change there. We're also well aware by now that this series is Wolverine and his X-men as bransen2099 just put it. If anyone has enjoyed the previous films they should enjoy this I'd expect. So me for one. But if they eventually reboot and get closer to the comics, cool.

Yes, if only they rebooted it with a somewhat younger and more accurate team. A movie where it was actually about X-Men and not Wolverine. Why something like that would be positively top notch. First Class film making you may even say. :lol Hmmm.

Personally, I think if they planned a trilogy from day one and absolutely KNEW they were gonna make more, they wouldve started with the original team:

Established who they were, then added in Wolverine into the mix in the sequel, that way Cyclops wouldn't come off as a priss. X1 was basically a "How Wolverine joined the Xmen" story and minimum screen time for the rest of the team.

I hope that's what they're planning to do with First Class and continuing with this.

Hah, gotcha. They did reboot it, gave it one film and now they're going straight back to Wolverine.

How about a rereboot.

How was it a reboot ? When you had two cameos from the old cast they just had to put wolverine in there,

I'm not even sure what the X-Men film continuity is anymore to be honest.

It's still a reboot, it changes the timeline. It was never intended to line up(well not line up but come full circle) with the original 3 til Singer came back. Same as Star Trek. Spocks there but it's a reboot.

I've only seen First Class about twice but there wasn't any time travel in it as I recall. They changed the timeline via writing **** up. Star Trek changed the timeline with an actual time travel event. If the intention was not to line up with the existing X-men trilogy then they shouldn't have had Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Romijn in it surely.

Not to mention Erik's origin that looks like it was ripped straight out of the first X-Men film. Or the trailers and promotions for the film "before they were ___ they were ___".

Forgot about it looks identical to the first film if it was reused footage then it's just lazy on foxes part.

Yea, sorry I wasn't clear there. They wrote it with some nods but it was never intended to come back full circle. Same as Star Trek. It's new stories playing out in the past but still aknowleging that what we already knew exists in some way. This one's taking it all the way but that only happened as a result of losing Vaughn and getting back Singer. They had no idea that would play out when they wrote FC.

It wasn't reused footage, I saw X1 then compared it to First Class with my frend who hasn't seen any XFilms (trying to get her caught up lol).

First Class was def. paying tribute to X1 in that scene.
