Like Khev said, I think Singer made this movie with the intention of letting the audience pick and choose whats canon. In my opinion, Origins isn’t canon, and Bill Duke isn’t Bolivar Trask, I don’t think this movie proves me wrong, or right either. Since everything has been pretty much wiped, and theres a new timeline, I don’t need to worry about it anymore, its not something I have to dwell on. It’s all irrelevant because the franchise is pretty much starting fresh.

Except it doesn't matter what he's billed as, Singer has already said they're the same character and people just have to learn to accept that stuff like that will happen. I don't blame him, he's already stated he has enough trouble keeping up with his own continuity errors (like the age they met) why would he want to chase everyone else's tails too?

“Some things you let go,” Singer admits. “In X-Men 3 Bolivar Trask was an African-American guy, in X-Men 1 I personally wrote the line that of course I now regret: ‘When I was 17, I met a young man named Erik Lensherr’ and then in X-Men: First Class I changed that!” he laughs.

......wh.....what? That's just ridiculous. Why? I just....for **** sake. Why is that OK with him? Isn't it better when things line up and make sense?

Maybe I'm just weird but I can't help but find this pretty frustrating.

No, I think Singer has it right in this case. He should concentrate on the big picture and set the ship right and work on the future of the franchise, not worry about sewing up every little glitch that most of the viewers don't even know about. I mean did you really want them to add an extra few minutes into the film where Charles pulls Logan aside and says, Y'know Logan, this situation had me thinking about our first time together and I realized, Lol, that I had told you that I met Erik at an erroneous age....I must be going senile. "
It's unneeded and unnecessary imo, I'd rather have the story advance, not flounder in endless correction of former works.

Singer casts according to his fancy. He just happened to have a thing for dwarves when he was casting for DOFP. :horror Plus they're about the same height as his usual targets anyway.

My problem with this is what's to stop Singer deciding in X-men Apocalypse to completely contradict something in DOFP? If you're just gonna throw out any concern for internal consistency how seriously do you expect people to take the films? Why bother having any over-arching stories? Just make each film completely standalone, pretend the characters have never met before in each film, turn Kitty Pryde into Kevin Pride played by the guy who was Mr Ecko in Lost, kill people in one film and have them back in the next one with no need for explanation (lol). I mean the sky is the limit.

He does need that suit. Him tearing into those mobsters in the hotel room; I was like "that's what's been missing all these years.":lol

He needs big time it :gah:, if you're fine without it, good for you, but I'm not :monkey2 I needz da suitz.

Tell me something like this wouldn't be cool.

And it's perfectly in line with the new tone they have going on.

Love the Canadian decal on his boots.

The only thing they should keep is awesome end of film Deadpool. Any Deadpool film franchise needs to star that guy.

:exactly: there ain't no one else so perfectly fit to play Deadpool.

Personally, I liked his Days of Future Past future suit, and I actually think that it could make for a great comic suit with some alterations. I came across this, and, outside of the mask, I think it looks spectacular. It'd be perfect with a smaller "Astonishing" type mask:

Also, agreed on Deadpool. Reynolds was spectacular. I still stand by my idea of starting it with the ending of Origins, only to have the actual Deadpool blow Barakapool's head off.:lol

I know, it would have been great  there's two comic book movies I want to see made eventually, Deadpool and the Darkness.

I actually think the suit in DOFT would be good too, just, the chest piece looks like weird motocross gear, but there's definitely something there, I would at least love to see them try, I mean, the character at least deserves it.

I'm not sure I agree on the motocross gear thing, though. I really like the chest piece, and, the segments on the collar bones. Did you check out that link I posted? I'd say that actually makes for a pretty faithful design.

The chest does look overdone, it's not like they couldn't streamline it for a new look like the one at the link. Definitely liking the second one, his eyes looked odd in that first pic.

Yeah, the first one was weird. I'm just looking forward to seeing where the universe goes from here, and, hopefully, we can see some more optimistic costuming out of this brighter timeline. One of the reasons I was okay with the costumes of DoFP was because I felt they were well suited to the bleak future that we were seeing.

Yes I agree.

Maybe I already missed that discussion, but what things did Singer negate from previous films? Other than the major retcons that are perfectly justified by the story in a clever way?

I mean things that were literally ignored or negated without explanation.

At least you agree with you, but I think you forgot to log into your alt account because now you're just agreeing with yourself which looks rather silly. :cuckoo:

The thing is, Jackman's manpecs are already massive, so I think that's why the chest piece looks like a little puffy to me, but it definitely could work, I did see the link I like the concept, the feeling is right, just a couple things I'd change and in the ones I shared I'd change too.

Like the horns, I would make them smaller and closer to the head and it has either sleeveless or with very short sleeves, you don't hide Jackman's arm veins/tree roots :lol

I hadn't seen the finalized product, but in case you missed it, in the custom section, Rahmier, did a Jackman with that helmet on, the wip pics were beast. :rock

I don't know, I feel that the short sleeves would be a disservice to his character. I think Jackman's Logan would take the "all or nothing" approach to a uniform. Of course, you could make a running gag out of it, where he's so reckless due to his healing factor that it's always left in tatters, so, he just tears his sleeves off. I wholy agree about the cowl. I think less is more in that case. They could probably do with a more form fitting costume in Jackman's case, though.
