You could say the same thing about all the lawsuits against John Travolta. Pretty sure I saw that he paid of at least one Plaintiff.

I stand corrected :lol

Fox would be crazy not to keep him. Don’t they remember what happened last time he left the franchise?

Famed X-Men director Bryan Singer could get pulled from directing the next flick in the trilogy because of Michael Egan‘s sex abuse allegations and lawsuit against him, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

According to an insider, Singer, 48, is squaring off with 20th Century Fox over the implications of the sex abuse case and whether or not he should still direct the sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past.

“Fox isn’t confident in it not heavily impacting production,” the source said.

“Bryan’s lawyers are going nuts because the deal was closed months ago.”

Singer’s legal team has provided Fox with proof that the lawsuits are fiction, the source claims, but it’s money that’s the issue.

“They don’t really care whether he’s innocent or guilty — they’re only concerned with the bottom line, which is giving him another $250 to $350 million to make Apocalypse. There have been talks about who else he’d let direct it, with him producing, but those led to heated arguments and walk outs,” the source revealed.

If Days of Future Past does big, big business (not just opening weekend, but has ‘legs’), it’ll be easier for the studio to relax and let things happen, but for right now their number one concern is another lawsuit popping up in the next 10 days leading to the film’s release.”

The source tells Radar that there’s concern if the lawsuit goes to trial it could also affect the movie’s production rate.

“They’re also looking at how far back they can push production without moving the release date, if any lawsuit did get a court date,” the source said.

“Even if Bryan doesn’t direct the film, he’s still going to get a major payout because the deal with them was made final months ago.”

As Radar has been reporting, Egan, 31, filed a lawsuit against Singer in April claiming the director and other men had forced themselves on him using the coercion of alcohol and cocaine, when he was between the ages of 15 and 17.

A second young man from Britain then came forward in March with another sex abuse lawsuit against Singer.

Singer adamantly denies the allegations, calling them “outrageous, vicious and completely false.”

“Bryan’s lawyers still have not been delivered the cases. It is being dragged out as long as possible because the plaintiff’s now know that as soon as they do deliver the cases, they’ll be dismissed,” the source said.

“Bryan’s lawyers have evidence to prove the dates don’t match up on the first lawsuit and witnesses to prove Bryan’s movements on the night of the Superman: Returns premiere in London.”

Meanwhile, the source says Singer isn’t taking any risks and has been throwing anyone who might not be loyal to him out of his group of friends.

“Bryan’s been scrubbing clean his circle of ‘friends,’ getting rid of anyone who has said anything to the press in the past month,” the source added.

“He feels really betrayed by the people that he’s been so generous to turning on him and saying awful things, which get back to him.”

I hope Singer stays. He delivered, and I hope he will again. It's that simple. I also hope he hasn't done anything wrong to people, but guess what? I hope that about a lot of people. Also, a lot of these cast members I hold in pretty high regard, a lot of the cast members seem very sincere people. I'll never know any of these people for real, but the fact that the cast has continual affection for Singer does account for something to me. They might be actors, but when Ian McKellon, someone who fights for gay rights very openly, or Patrick Stewart, someone who is very publicly active in fighting domestic violence, sincerely thank Bryan for the films he's made, and continue to view him as a friend, I take that as a positive note, just as much as a plaintiff might 'claim' all sorts of things. And people will do some ****ED UP **** to harass any celebrities.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people have made stuff we love and have done **** and got away with it without us knowing. I'm not saying that's good, but that IS the way it is, and I'm not going to look into every artists to see what he she is up to privately. I will not protest Singer leaving if he's legally found guilty, but as long as he's not I'm gonna ignore the whole thing completely. It's not up to me to judge a person I completely don't know.

If people can get off just by having enough money, that's more a statement on how ****ed up this whole world and the legal system is than anything else. No matter how public SInger's work is, his private life is just that: his private life. I have nothing to do with it, not positively, not negatively. And I sure as hell can't influence it nor would I want to.

I DON'T KNOW THE MAN beyond his work, and I don't see ANY reason to change that. Apart from liking the chemistry between him and his film crew.

And honestly, a person's work and art can transcend who they are in other aspects. People quote a lot of philosophers with admiration, when the vast majority of them were perfectly fine with slavery for example. One of those very philosophers did however lay the foundation for Human Rights, which was still revolutionary in human history. It just goes nowhere to judge a person milions of miles away who I don't know nor possess any incriminating proof for. Innocent until proven guilty, no matter how ****ed up a legal system may get, that principle I will always uphold. Until anything of proof becomes publically known, Singer managed to get back to being one of my favourite directors again.

The only reason they would get rid of Singer would be if his actions stopped the movie from hitting 1 Billion instead of the projected measly 700 million it will make.

These executives and hedge fund companies could give a crap about this guys allegations of what possibly occurred 16 years ago, this guy and his attorney will be paid off and they will be gone, not maybe this will happen, it will happen.

Now had DOFP made 1 billion (the new magic number), Singer would be staying.

Singer just got his wake up call, cut the crap.

Hahahaha

This actually made me laugh out loud.

I agree though, if this would have hit 1 billion they wouldn't let him go anywhere.

It definitely won’t win domestic, but overseas its doing better than Thor and Cap.

This surprises me..
I usually like X-Men films and I wanted to like DoFP.. Mystique kicked a**.. but apart from that, I struggled to lose myself in the film, can't quite put my finger on what was missing though.. I suspect the fact that there was disappointingly little character development of the newer characters didn't help, since as a result, putting them in peril did not have the impact it should have done.. and much as I like Peter Dinklage, the script left him with very little direct villainy to get his teeth into.. much of it was via events that happened off screen, and the simple fact his character was responsible for the Sentinels project.. as a result, this in no way matched the bravura performance from Brian Cox's Stryker in X-Men 2, on screen..

So far my 2014 ratings are -
1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2. Thor: The Dark World
3. X-Men: Days of Future Past
4. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Some people obnoxiously date the film in the year they saw it, instead of the american release date. Which is at first glance very understandable, but when you realise a release date is super trivial anyway, we might as well all just stick to one formal country's rel date so all lists are comparable, in which case america is the clear most convenient point of reference.

In fact I still go by the Oscar rule (it has to have screened publicly before 31st of dec or whatever). Just to have something. I don't care what establishes a common denominator, as long as there is one.

Whatever happened to this costume? it looked so good

Why do you say that? At 17 days DOFP is at 189 million domestic compared to TWS which was at 174 million at 17 days. TWS just passed the Lego Movie to be the current #1 in 2014 but it seems DOFP is on pace to possibly surpass it.

Cap didn't really have much competition, and The World Cup is starting soon. I hope your right, but I don't think it's passing 220 million domestic.

I just want to watch a 3 hour movie with Magneto, the Brotherhood, the X-Men, the Morlocks, Senators, Geneticists, and "Everyman" citizens in a room together and discuss this Mutant issue. Give us a modern "12 Angry Men!" I know it's a horrible idea, but I want it!

^ I want everything.

Seriously. X-force, FC sequel, new timeline future sequel, Wolverine Weapon X film with deadpool, sabretooth and Omega Red, Mystique spy-thriller solo film, three hours of wolverine cutting through future sentinels, a whole film of nothing but Fassneto hunting nazi's around the world, a tie-in TV show called Mutant High, a real-life TV help show called Dr. McCoy with Kelsey Grammar, no wait make that McCoy, a reboot of Frasier as a mutant, an indie film with magneto opening a small hardware store that slowly expands into a succesful chain only to realize that his life is empty without his estranged family and proceeds to bond with his children and then dies of cancer and it wins 10 oscars, WHATEVER. I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW.:rotfl

All of it. Gimme that ****.:lol

A Magneto TV show called 'Will it Bend'. Quicksilver, Wolverine and FC Beast in "Mutant Top Gear'.

As a (big) fan of this film, I hope Singer stays on board for the sake of the sequel. If it gets Ratnerized, I'll probably throw a beer bottle at the wall and sob in the corner for awhile. But I am sure more accusations would pop up a couple weeks before Apocalypse from guys looking for a nice, convenient pay day. Hard to fault Fox's thinking on this one, and Singer may well have brought some of it onto himself for, apparently going after youngish guys. And of course, for being gay. He should have known better. If these were underaged, possibly even dead female prostitutes, no one would blink an eye.

^ :goodpost:

Singer is a gay white jewish guy who throws pool parties and directs high grossing blockbusters for 14 years now.

Can he be an easier target for idiots?:lol
