My stance on TWS has remained the same since my first viewing, it’s a solid superhero flick, but the fact that you don’t even know whether Chris Evans is as good an actor as Mcavoy and Fassbender tells me you haven’t seen enough of their films.

I know its cool to hate the new and praise the old, but Mcavoy and Fassbender have carried the last two X-Men films, one without Wolverine, and even one with Wolverine, they do such a good job that Hugh Jackman can’t even overshadow them, the same can’t be said for Stewart and Mckellen. I like Stewart and Mckellen, but if you wanted to do a head to head best scenes, the Mcavoy/Fassbender combo would destroy them.

I can admit that TWS has better action compared to DOFP, but I can’t believe we’re arguing about which film had the better performances.

You telling me Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult did?

Love that meme by the way :lol

You need to stop huffing your own poop. :lol Given how First Class was the second lowest grossing film in the franchise worldwide, I'd say you're full of monkey crap. FOX didn't trust them with the sequel, so put Jackman front and center to carry the burden and brought in Stewart and McKellen as reinforcements.

Just realized I’m debating with Difabio and Nam, its best I concede and get out of here while my reputation still in tact :lol

I wasn’t talking Box office, I was talking about the overall quality of the film :slap

It was critically the highest rated superhero film of 2011 and made a little less than TFA.

Pturtle, you sound like a Mcavoy/Fassbender sloot. Maybe not as bad as Nam's Marvel slooting, but still.

Which is all entirely subjective. You were talking about the two actors carrying the film as if it were fact. It isn't. When you say crap like that, you infer it was the studio's decision for that exact reason. Studios don't care about that. They care about box office. And to put it bluntly, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, considered a flop by the studio who actually blamed hackers that released an unfinished cut for the low gross, STILL outgrossed First Class. :lol

I'm gonna have to side with Pturtle on this one. I loved TWS but it wasnt as good to be compared to the dark knight imo. The dark knight was just amazing and TWS was just more of a fun action packed movie like avengers but with a little bit more to it.

I dont understand why people are jocking marvel's **** lately and loving all these characters they didnt give a **** about yrs ago but thats just me. I believe marvel has only made pretty much 4 good movies in Iron man, TWS, GOTG and avengers. Once Avengers came out people just sorta sucked up to marvel and damn everything else. Now we are bashing xmen. Without xmen you wouldn't have your precious marvel MCU.

Now yes I believe marvel should have all the characters but I hate how people are putting certain characters above the better marvel superheros because they are more "popular" in the movies. Iron man above spidey? Hawkeye above wolverine? No ****ing way. Its hilarious to see people trashing the raimi spiderman movies and acting like iron man had three amazing movies. I love marvel but come on not everything they churn out is a masterpiece.

I remember when people bitched and whined cuz tmnt beat GOT for number 1 at the box office. Like people were praying for it to fail so marvel's movie could do better.

I understand tmnt was not the best movie but come on haha

Pturtle, you sound like a Mcavoy/Fassbender sloot.

Come on man, we’re all fanboys here, I can just as easy say you’re a Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson “sloot”

I’m just more honest than you guys :monkey3

I"m sure pturtle's overly thrilled to be backed by an ASM fanboy. :lol

It also outgrossed TFA :lol

And FC was easily the best superhero movie of 2011, thats a fact :thwak

I love Iron Man 1, but I agree Raimi Spider-man Trilogy>Iron Man trilogy.

I added more to that by the way.

And no you can't. I don't go slooting for Keaton Bats or Nicholson Joker. They're cool guys that played their respective roles well and made me believe they were Batman and the Joker. Just like,

Hugh Jackman - Wolverine
Ian Mckellen/Fassbender - Magneto
Patrick Stewart/Mcavoy - Charles
Robert Downey Jr. - Stark

annnnnnnd

Chris Evans - Cap

They're all great. All good comic book movies too. X-Men, X-2, Iron Man, Captain America, First Class, Avengers, Winter Soldier, Days of Future Past, Guardians of the Galaxy.

All good.

It also outgrossed TFA :lol

It should've. It had an entire franchise to suckle off of whereas we all knew TFA would be slow because it's an origin story and the "Skinny kid" story at that.

And FC was easily the best superhero movie of 2011, thats a fact :thwak
I'll concede that it was better than Green Lantern. But when you have to modify your argument and strip it of all it's legitimacy to claim a single film was the best of the year vs. your original claim that it was the second best of it's franchise after being shown proof that it was actually the second worst, you know you've lost your argument. :lol

I dont know man is this like the 200th time I told you im not an asm fanboy and thought the first was decent and second was a disappointment? Just cause someone defends a movie doesn't mean i'm a fanboy lol.

Your unabashed praise of all things ASM prior to the films' releases completely disagrees with you. :huh

I agree with most of this, and believe me, I’m not a hater, I’m looking forward to Cap 3, and I really do like Chris Evans, he just isn’t Cap to me, I just see Chris Evans kicking ass wearing a Captain America costume, and I’m fine with that, I just think the script was better than most of the performances.

Fair enough.

But if you're going to say that all you see is Chris Evans kicking ass wearing a Captain America costume, than surely all you saw is Mcavoy in a wheel chair yelling about how unfortunate his predicament is or Fassbender being, well, Fassbender.

Especially if you compare the former to this,

I think Fassbender is perfectly cast as a younger Magneto, but Mcavoy I’ll give you, he’s nothing like the Professor X that we all know and love, but he’s also purposely written not to be either. X-Men Apocalypse he should start tapping into his older, wiser, Stewart persona.
