I really don't think that it needs to be connected--but if you have already made several movies without attempting to have continuity, then you should just forget about it. Trying to make it all cohesive several years later because you want some Marvel dollars is not the way to go about building your cinematic universe.

but they are doing a time travel movie. At that point everything is on the table. Personally, I would use this oppurtunity to keep McAvoy and Fassbender in the present, revamp the X-Team and Brotherhood, and start from there. Bring in new characters we haven't seen. Hell have all of this time travel lead to an Age of Apocalyspe timeline. Jettison all the baggage and only keep what works. Jackman, Lawrence, Fassbender, McAvoy(I love the old guys, but they are getting up there, and how much are they going to want to come back). Time Travel opens up so many possibilities. I say use them.

Spot on about the time travel, that can be used to reboot into an alternate timeline without nullifying the previous movies.

Perhaps the old cast coming back is them and Singer wanting to wrap up their versions of the characters better than X3 did.

I'm starting to not like Jackman's height for Wolverine, never bothered me before but it's bugging me in The Wolverine with him wearing that long black coat. :lol

I think hes slimmer now so it really enhances his height. Hes already a foot taller than Wolverine, but when he was holding the beefier look I think it made him look "stocky" like Wolverine.

He's much beefier now than he ever was in the original X-MEN.

You've obviously never watched the original X-Men movie... I haven't seen it in years and don't need to to remember he was nothing like this.

Photoshop is your friend. Newsflash: He doesn't look that thin in the trailers.

In the original, he was pretty slim:

His physique has come leaps and bounds over the years even if you they did photoshop him a little. I know you're not the brightest, but do you just argue to argue?

X-1 Jackman

Whoah, buddy, are we really getting personal?

I didn't realize Hugh's physique was something to get butt-hurt over on the internet.

The fact is, in those pics, he's nowhere near the beast he was in the sequels.

Exactly, he had more fat, leaner muscle on the same frame is going to make him look taller. Not a hard concept. :slap
