Yep New Line made the first good Marvel CBM.

Fox/Singer made the first iconic Marvel Property into a hit movie franchise and built the genre into a trend thats still going

I think that distinction goes to Sony/Raimi's Spidey flicks.

Blade did alright for the second only CBM to be released in the theater, Howard the Duck has the distinction of being the first Marvel property to make it to the US cinemas.

Blade 45 million to make, 132 million box office.
