So much negativity towards this film.
I certainly see how this movie conflicts with the continuity established in the other films but I don't really mind. Continuity in the comics has always been messed up so that is nothing new. Additionally, I don't see the X-Men films as being so awesome that I would really want to follow that timeline.
All things considered, I would love a complete reboot that tried to stay more faithful to the comics, similar to most of the Marvel movies. As that is obviously not going to happen, I will be content if this new movie is pretty good on its own merits. Of course, even if a movie did stay faithful to the comics, which version would be represented? There have been so many different eras (ie, Stan Lee, early Claremont, the muscle bound 90's, Morrison's leather-infused reboot, Whedon's astonishing version).
Considering that Matthew Vaughn has made some great movies (ie, Stardust and Kick-Ass), I have at least some hope that the actual movie will be better than what is implied in some of the goofy pictures released.
