:exactly: Competition benefits everyone.

I agree.

Lets say that the PS4 completely overwhelms the Xbox 1 and Microsoft gives up on the console. In a few years, Sony will announce a PS5 with whatever restrictions and limitations they want, because the competition is dead and customers have no other option. Bad scenario.

I had an Xbox and a PS2, and then I had an Xbox 360 and a PS3. I have supported both companies until now. I will not be buying the new Xbox, but that doesn't mean I want Microsoft to lose the console war and leave Sony with no healthy competition.

I can't actually believe Microsoft plan to go ahead with this. Personally used game charges and the need to be online shouldn't trouble me too much but what's the point ?. With the amount of people being aggravated by this you'd think they'd just scrap both ideas , it's not like they're not making enough money as it is.

I've always supported xbox despite owning a ps3 and planned to purchase the xbox one ( I still do really due to the exclusives ) but I'm so disappointed with them and what they've delivered. It's as if they just couldn't care less. They way they completely ignored peoples worries and questions regarding their new policies was downright insane , they didn't even try to bring an argument to the table. It's as if they know they're wrong but just can't be bothered doing anything about it and would rather take the publicity hit in the hope that the xbox one still sells well.

It was great to see Sony using Microsoft's failures to their advantage , Microsoft deserved that.

The only thing that will make me buy a xbox one is halo.

The only thing that will make me buy a xbox one is when MS gets their head out of their *** and reverses all this nonsense once and for all.

MS you listening, I WANT to give you my money, all I'm asking is that you respect your customer base and stick up for us when dealing with the publishers by reversing your hardware DRM support.

If MS didn't get the message yet after E3 that their business decisions hurt them then they truly are educated idiots.

I see the chances of that happening somewhere less than slim and just short of none. They didn't do this alone, and very likely have contracts with major publishers. Mircosoft is getting something out of this (and not a few bucks for used game sales) that has not been revealed. I have a really hard time buying they didn't know people would be upset but knew they will have some bomb shells to drop later. Lets be realistic the % of people who will stick to their guns if more and more games, add ons ect.. end up being Xbox exclusives it a lot less than people let on right now. Exclusives is really the most realistic agreement between Mircosoft and publishers for this.

You notice no publisher are coming out and saying they support Sony's position (or I haven't seen any) and that they won't be utilizing the DRM and don't support Microsofts planed restrictions. I have seen some say they don't know how it works, up but that could have more to do with NDA than anything else.

Weird question....I have a 360 and a kinect. My kinect has only been used once, i set it up in my den, but my den is not that big of a room. I was unable to calibrate the kinect b/c the room is too small to use it.

With the X-1, being that kinect seems mandatory, would i even be able to play anything? I would imagine college kids in dorm rooms have the same issue.

Kinect is necessary for the console but so far there's almost no games using it. Though the new Kinect will be able to detect you closer than before.

Speaking of exclusives other than Forza and Halo and Gears of War have there been any new ones?

Playstation are doing sequl exclusives but are also developing new exclusive IPs

Ryse
Quantum Break
Titanfall

plus some stuff they haven't announced yet, and that one teaser they had but didn't really reveal what the game was.

Well, Microsoft isn't Sony's only competitor in the gaming market (and vice versa). There's also Nintendo to consider, and Valve should be releasing their Steam Box at some point in time. So, even if Microsoft loses big time with the X-Box One and calls it quits in the console business, there will be someone else to take their place.
