Wonder when they'll lower the price? I like that they're backing off all of this. Makes it easier to support buying one when I do.

They really shouldn't drop the Kinect, but I wouldn't be surprised if after the holiday season they see too much of a drop in sales and decide to sell a version without it.
Main problem is that they didn't make any compelling reason why someone would want to pay extra for it. There's almost nothing that uses it. Eventually there will be, but not when the console launches.

Finally, I feel like I can get on board with an Xbox1.
I do hope a price reduction or a version without Kinect is offered before Titanfall is released.

Yeah l feel like a may get on board with this now, since they got rid of all the stupid restrictions.

Part of me still says no one should buy this though, just in spite for what they did, trying to screw us. I still feel like Mircrosoft needs to be punished for trying to take advantage of us.

Pretty much. I don't think a price drop will happen as long as the Kinect is in the box, but everything else has been addressed.

Truly - they announce a Kinect free version for $400 and i'll bite. Honestly, this has opened the door

Xbox 180 in every sense. I'd be laughing my arse off, if MS handling of this console hadn't sucked so incredibly.

No sour grapes - these reversals are great, but they shouldn't have forced aspects of the system down our throats to start

I find it funny they tried a something had a huge backlash, had tons of people saying they would never buy it. I am starting to think they had a plan, if this doesn't work we slowly roll back to where we were before and by the time it hits the shelves we will be golden, all those gamers are bluffing they would never buy it no matter what.

Just goes to show how much real POWER we the people have. If we actually stood up together all the time, we could bring change all the time in different areas. Governments and corporations are scared of mass amounts of pissed off people.:lecture

Great news, I wasn't a fan of relying on the kinect being connected to use the one.

It's absolutely unnecessary and was just another way Microsoft was trying to dictate how you play your games. The other being having to always be connected to the internet.

That's not good marketing, first impressions count and all these policy changes will make people confused.

While I do agree that it makes a bad impression, it would've hurt them much more had they not made these changes IMO. It's the best move for the console to be sure. The numbers on this thing must really be in the crapper for them to keep retroactively changing things at this late stage.

The numbers are probably fine. There was almost no chance that it wouldn't sell out for launch, just like Wii U. The changes are likely due to the responses they've been getting back. It's very important that they get in good standing with potential customers so that they don't go downhill after the hype from the launch has worn off.
