Have they confirmed the native resolution of Forza 5?

Nothing personal against you Centurion, but I really hate this question.

I'd love to see someone do a "taste test" and have a game running in 720p and 1080p and have people guess which resolution is which. I doubt 90% of people would ever know.

You shouldnt have anythng to worry about with Forza, but I think everyone is curious to see the scores on Ryse. Its the biggest question mark of either launch I think.

I've got an idea it's going to score averagely by what I've read about it. It looks amazing but the gameplay is supposed to be repetitive but we shall soon see.

Some will argue that you will but I agree with you.

Forza is native 1080p

Tech is tech, it doesn't matter if 90% of people can tell the difference, especially when 2 consoles are launching a week apart.

A lot of people think the Xbox One version of Battlefield 4 looks better than PS4 even though it's at a lower resolution.

I'm not of a racing guy but I'd get it just for the graphics. I'm thinking it will probably be one of the best if not the best game for the console launch.

I agree. I think this will score the highest of the next gen launch titles. The only negative maybe less cars added .

I agree. You would have to pause the game to start telling the difference.
slightly disappointed Dead rising was upscalled to 720p tho. Still looks like a great game.

I agree. They have done something to the lighting and for me, it looks a little bit more detailed and vibrant.

Having said that, cod on the ps4 does look better than the x box 1 in all aspects, again very slight but better.

All i know is, I am sitting 12ft from my tv, not 12 inches. So it really is not going to make a difference to me.

And that's OK. I didn't ask to cause controversy.

I'm trying to gauge the performance of the console.
Whether a game looks pretty or vibrant is not what I was looking for.
We already know how visually striking Forza 5 is, but we still don't know if there will be any frame rate issues.
Now, at 1080P, and still being able to sustain 60fps, tells a lot of the potential of the system.

I still think the Xbox 360 version looks good.

I agree. You would have to pause the game to start telling the difference.

This here is what prompted me to ask my question of resolution. I realize I'm comparing two different games using two different engines, but if one game slows down at a lower resolution, but the other game does not at 1080P, I'm sure that will be something worth noting. I'm sure the folks who did Dead Rising 3 would want to know what was done to achieve it. :)

Just got an email from amazon saying to make sure credit card info and shipping address are up to date before the system ships

Yes, the difference between 720p and 1080p is noticeable, especially on a large TV.

I'll only add that it is basically impossible to judge either systems potential based on the launch games. Not only are all launch games not actually 'next gen' but designed for the 360/PS3 but the developers haven't really begun to get comfortable with the architecture.

And one system's games looking slightly better at launch may simply mean upscaling is easier on that system.....I don't know....

Look at the games on the current gen in 2006 compared to what they released in 2012.

And for me personally there isn't a game I'd buy either system for until mid next year ..... Witcher3 and Dragon Age3 ....

Actually, the games that are console exclusives do look much better than last-gen games--Killzone, Forza 5, Ryse, Dead Rising 3

killzone yes
Ryse yes
Dead Rising no. Look at all the texture pop. It is impressive at the amount of zombies on screen at once tho
As for Forza racing games are not really resource heavy. Does look good tho

With Dead rising tho as stated earlier, there have been different reviews stating no pop up or frame rate issues so will be interesting to see once its out.
For me, Ryse graphically has impressed me the most. And dont forget watchdogs was a launch game and heavily aimed for next gen which looks stunning .

texture pop might be the wrong word.

It's the slow loading of textures like the problem masseffect 1 had
