For sure. Killzone is a great example of next gen imo. It blows away anything on current consoles. It actually looks like a high end pc game to me. Up there with Crysis 3 running on ultra. An incredible looking game.

Yeah that's sort of what I find odd ...the old generation lasted so long and PC games ended up so far in front that the 'next gen' graphics look like a current high end PC.

Anyway, I'm more of a console gamer so don't want to turn this into a debate.

I'll end up with both new systems, XboxOne when Witcher3 comes out and PS4 when Uncharted4 comes out.

Yeah, they really do, they look better than last gen which means they look better than 360/PS3

And as far as next-gen, it's a very noticable difference, Killzone runs at 1080p, has higher resolution textures, and has features like physically based materials (which means dynamic reflections of anything they want) and other things like dynamic volumetric lighting. Lots of stuff you couldn't do before.

Huge Killzone fan myself but not single player they have always been alright.

MP on the other hand is brilliant

Im not sure I follow. High end pcs are just using the best of whats available and the newest gen of consoles try to do the same, but of course its within the tight parameters of profit margins. High end pc type performance is the best you can hope for with a new console. The biggest advantage of consoles is the benefit of universal hardware. Especially for exclusives like KZ. Guerrilla only needs to focus their efforts on one system. They can optimize the crap out of it. The ps4 is really just a mid range pc. Having games that look like high end pc games is a testament to how much of a difference proper optimization can have.

I got the PS4 on launch, it is great. I'll wait till after the new year to pickup the Xbox one. I'll jump as soon as they drop their price a bit. But for now the PS4 will do.

That's on a good day plus it costs me about $60 a month as only one provider would install a line!
At the weekend I cant even watch a youtube video on auto resolution straight through.
No digital download games for me unless I travel 15 miles to the parents and get 100mb+.

I could not live with that.....OMG

I'm guessing most Gamestops got the systems yesterday. I freelance as a dumpster diver and I saw 2 Gamestops last night with dumpsters OVERFLOWING with large unlabeled boxes.

I get a 125mb with Virgin. I don't know what it costs me though? It's all in one package. Cable, phone, broadband

while 57 gig or 100 gig download is great and all, its not like that speed is actually being utilized most of the time

omg ! tried the xbox one at ebgames. LOAD times are horrible and the kinnect is terrible.

the only game that looks cool is ryse and that is it.
this system is not worth $540

a huge pass for me.

Your problem sounds exactly like a mate of mine, he can only get around the same because he's on a new build area the only line he can get is sky, virgin won't even humor the idea because there is not enough interest in his area for them to install.
