texture pop might be the wrong word.

It's the slow loading of textures like the problem masseffect 1 had

Will see. some reviews have reported no problems and ign said it had a few. I do think its disappointing its not native 720p on a next gen console but im sure it will look pretty awesome all the same.

With Dead rising tho as stated earlier, there have been different reviews stating no pop up or frame rate issues so will be interesting to see once its out.
For me, Ryse graphically has impressed me the most. And dont forget watchdogs was a launch game and heavily aimed for next gen which looks stunning .

Speaking of Watch Dogs, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up canceling the current-gen versions and decide to only release it on next-gen. Especially if the game gets pushed to Fall 2014.

The game looks built for next-gen, and so far all visuals shown have been on next-gen technology.

Sold my 360 on evilbay. Was my 3rd machine but still served me well.

Although I like the look of the ps4 better, im glad this is a bulky well vented unit with the power brick on the outside. Hopefully red ringing is a thing of the past!

I heard a rumour there was problems with the current gen on this. Its rumoured to come out April/May time I think.
Agreed this is quite a leap from current gen graphics.

Same here, and that is one reason I speculate they may scrap the current-gen release of Watch Dogs.

Also, I know it's scheduled for spring-summer release, but if there is no Assassins Creed game coming out next fall, I could see Ubisoft releasing Watch Dogs in fall as their main title.

They are really trying to push Watch Dogs as their next great franchise. What better way then to have all the attention on it for the Holiday 2014 season?

The dead rising issues don't bother me, im not going into that game wanting a totally immersive experience. I am going to play the game to blow off steam and mess around on and just explore the area's. so a few bugs an pop ins don't bother me an besides im sure they'll be patched soon enough.

I may pick up ryse in the future if it ever drops in price a bit or i may just trade in a ****load of my old 360 games as the only time im returning to current gen is for The last of us DLC.

Yes does make sense. I think they will want to get this out tho. Hope so. Was my no 1 game with bf4

Yea I sometimes dont get a lot of time to play and love games like this that you can just pick up and play, have fun without sticking to the story.
this will have so many lol moments

I think they'll still release the Xbox 360/PS3 version, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii U version is canceled, especially if the Wii U does poorly this holiday season.

Hrmm, called EB Games yesterday because they hadn't called in regards to me picking up my Xbox One this Friday and the guy told me they haven't even received their shipment yet. Kinda disconcerting, what with the console coming out in a little over 2 days.

I'm not sure about that. My two friends both got phone calls the weekend before the release of the PS4 to say they could pick theirs up at midnight.

The EB lackey told me that they couldn't phone preorders because they didn't know how many consoles they were getting since the shipment hadn't arrived.

Actually, the games that are console exclusives do look much better than last-gen games--Killzone, Forza 5, Ryse, Dead Rising 3

nah not really they don't.

Well sure, they look better than 360/PS3 but I don't consider them true next gen. Work started on these games years ago, before developers really knew what next gen would even be, other than a vague guestimate.

Give them time and the games that come out in 12-18 months are going to make this first batch look antique.

Just bought the an extra controller pack that came with the charging kit from Gamestop. The new controller feels awkward to me, but I really love this new feel of the thumbsticks! the textured pattern I can't seem to stop feeling it! The shoulder buttons however the PS4 controller stomps all over it. The XBox 1 shoulders have that long travel on it like the old PS3 which was a big no no to me.

Yeah, they really do, they look better than last gen which means they look better than 360/PS3

And as far as next-gen, it's a very noticable difference, Killzone runs at 1080p, has higher resolution textures, and has features like physically based materials (which means dynamic reflections of anything they want) and other things like dynamic volumetric lighting. Lots of stuff you couldn't do before.

For sure. Killzone is a great example of next gen imo. It blows away anything on current consoles. It actually looks like a high end pc game to me. Up there with Crysis 3 running on ultra. An incredible looking game.
