For me it's the "And you'll never have to" line at the end with Gordon. One of the best ever endings to a movie that leaves you wanting more.

For me, The Dark Knight is the end all, be all for Batman films. Perfect.
To me, though it's a great film it's the least "Batman" film on the list.
There was no gothic atmosphere, Gotham looks like a generic american city, the majority was during the daylight, his suit was less "Bat", he didn't use his batarangs
I don't think this one has been done yet. For whatever criteria you judge by, what is the best/your favorite/desert island Batman movie?
This is a tough one...
I'm not a big fan of the Burton movies, but I do remember that Batman Returns kicked all kinds of butt. I will have to watch it again though, just to make sure. I never really liked his first Batman movie. It was a bit too campy for me.
And the less said about the Schumacher movies, the better. Too bad he wasted two great actors... Kilmer and Clooney could've been great as Wayne/Batman given better material to work with.
As for Nolan's films, while great, it's hard for me to pick one. Atmosphere wise I'd say Batman Begins, it's the only one of the three that resembles a Batman movie. The stylistic jump from BB to TDK is ridiculous IMHO. TDKR recaptured a bit of the vibe from BB, but not nearly enough for me.
Batman Begins is easily better then TDK. So I have no idea what the hell is wrong with the world.
