I'm going to watch Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride and The Mummy on blu onHalloween.
As usual, I'll visit a movie shop and pick up a couple of random horrors that I have never seen for the weekend.
In the past most have been pretty bad, but I remember two years ago, I got three great movies. Nothing titles, nothing stars, just great stuff.
last year I got the Children of the Corn box set (I'd never seen any) and I watched em all... I tout at one of them would be good!

Taped prom night the other night, never seen that but always wanted to. Love me some 80's slashers. Also taped monster squad, absolutely loved this film growing up so super e cited about seeing that again, and return of the living dead. So got a great selection of some classics next. Out tonight for my birthday but will try and cram those in over the next few days. :rock This has been my best halloween viewing for a long time.

:lecture That's it.
I didn't want to say anything earlier to bias your opinion, but I just didn't get much from the remake.

The original with Roddy McDowall was much more enjoyable, but probably because I was younger and because he played a character, 'Peter Vincent'. Clearly an homage to Peter Cushing -- the ultimate Van Helsing actor and vampire killer. :rock

Absolutely. The original was a love letter to Hammer. A creature feature tour de force. The actors all seemed to be having fun, and it came through.

Enjoy your birthday, Russel!

Tonight I'm going with Cabin Fever. Worth it alone for the PAAAANCAKES!:lol

Thanks buddy. :duff. Just got my universal monsters blu ray set today too. It's a great little set. To had time to watch any yet but really itching to.

Trying, once again, for 31 films. I've failed every year, but maybe in 2012 I'll succeed. Can I count films I couldn't finish watching? So far:

Deadly Blessing
V/H/S - the camera work is so dreadful it's near unwatchable, 2 of the 5 stories are worth seeing
Werewolf: Beast Among Us - bad
Creepshow 1&2
Tales From the Crypt - original
Bait
Abominable - fans of Stephen King's Silver Bullet will LOVE this flick
Cabin in the Woods
Frankenweenie
The Video Dead - really bad
Grave Encounters
The Tall Man - waste of time

Adding 2 more:

Sinister
Evilspeak

Watched PRINCE OF DARKNESS last night. I know THE THING is Carpenter's best film, but POD is my favorite.

You will not be saved by the holy ghost.
You will not be saved by the god Plutonium.
In fact, YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED!

:lecture Two awesome flicks right there and I recently rewatched both.

Hope you enjoy it! :duff

It's been years since I saw it. Worth another look?

It's OK.
I don't watch these zombie flicks hoping to get an Oscar performing cast and plot.

What I look for is the creativity in the zombies, the special effects to create the gore, the methods of the kills, and the body count.

Land of the Dead had all of that. :)

No, no. Halloween is his best. :lecture

I can return to it time and time again, and always, it gives me the chills. If I'm home alone, I turn into a raving maniacal baby, and have to check under the beds and in the closets before going to bed.
