I saw rob zombies halloween at the cinema and remember thinking it was ok. Never had a desire to see it since though. I do remember thinking that seeing michael myers as a messed up redneck kid kind of ruined him though. Took away all the creepiness. I never saw the second one but I hear it gets slated by most. A shame really as I'm a big fan of rob zombie's music and white zombie and I loved house of 1000 corpses and remember waiting for like forever for that to get made and then released.

Cool, I was gonna ask, are you a big fan of the originals? I think that's how I look at a lot of the horror remakes, texas chainsaw massacre, friday 13th, nightmare on elmstreet. They're not as good as the originals but they're enjoyable enough.

Yeah man, Im a huge horror fan in general. My parents went on date nights seeing all the originals in theaters. We still watch the original 78 Halloween every 31st. :lol

To me, I look at it as just different versions of the stories. I dont think they're really fair to compare an original to a remake/re-telling.

There are some remakes that I'm not overly fond of. The most recent example I re-watched was Nightmare on Elm Street (2010 remake).

However, Rob Zombie's Halloween remake is actually very cool.
I do like how he delivers a much more in-depth look at Meyers as a young child. Zombie's version shows us more character development compared to John Carpenter's 1981 original Halloween.

I gotta say you guys are making me want to revisit zombies remake. I do remember thinking it seemed quite cool to see more of Myers' backstory, but I just felt that after seeing it it sort of took away some of the creepiness. Will still give it another shot though some time.
Just driven home from my night shift and there's thick fog everywhere, drove past the cemetery just down the road and thought this is perfect weather for Halloween. Sometimes living in England has its perk. :lol in the mood for a classic now now. Maybe something from the universal collection.

Fog everywhere and a cemetary?
There's your answer: The Wolf Man. :yess:

Haha, I was actually thinking the same thing. I watched the wolf man as part of my Halloween viewing just before I got the blu ray set, was thinking of watching the mummy but the wolf man just seemed so perfect for the weather etc. might have to go with the wolf man. It's like a sign. Haha.

It's thought I'd share the view behind my house, the eerie British countryside bathed in fog. There are actually miles of open fields behind that fog, but they're completely covered. A nice backdrop while I watch the first episode of season 3 of the walking dead. Then settle down with the classic wolf man. :rock
