She doesn't get excited over them.. Never mentions anything when a new peice arrives.. Took her almost a month to notice the 1:1 venom bust..

My wife just says "Now what the hell did you order?"

But she spends more on country music concerts than I do on figures so its a wash.

My wife didn't know what she got herself into when she pre-ordered Indy for me earlier this year. I had never heard of Sideshow before that. Once Indy was pre-ordered, I started trolling the Sideshow site and pre-ordered ANH Han. And once I actually got Han, I went crazy and started getting stuff off ebay like a maniac! Now my wife curses the day this ever started! She's more concerned about the space and where I'm going to be keeping all these figures--right now they're cluttering my desk and there's not much room left. She wouldn't mind at all if I found a very discreet place to store these, out of sight. I intend to clean out a closet in my office so I can have them all on shelves, and be able to close the door in case of company!

She knows I'm serious about this collection because normally it takes me a long time to mull over buying something. I'm usually very thrifty, but I'll plunk down the dough for these babies in a heartbeat! There is nothing else I buy with this little hesitation. Everything else takes weeks of research and soul searching to really know if I truly want item X.

So when something new arrives on the front porch, I get the eye rolls and the "where are we going to keep all these?!?"

Yeah, my Wife likes the stuff until I tell her how much it costs. You should see her eyes bug out when I let her know how much a PF set me back. :lol

She's a cheapskate though, she is always looking for the bargains and never wants to drop money on anything. So paying over 300 for a statue of some random ass character boggles her mind.

The key is just to tell her afterwards. :D

My main concern is how tacky some of these things look together.

That's exactly what I think and part of the reason why my 1/6 collecting was short lived. Some of the pictures I've seen have looked so cluttered. Everything is lost in a sea of distraction. I'm trying to be selective with my purchases and stick to PFs. Classy and dignified is my goal but we'll see what happens.

With that said, my girl is 100% supportive. She'll even listen to me talk about this stuff until I get tired of talking about it. Don't think I could ask for anyone better.

Yep, the clutter/tacky look is what my wife objects to. If I can keep them out of sight, she'd be more fine with it.

The prime wife. All others are subservient to her. (Know you nothing about polygamy and its domestic intricacies?) :nono

By the way king... 5 minutes ago you were 3 posts more than me and now you are 15 posts more than me.

Not really legally allowed too...yet! :naughty:lol

Is that due to age ?

My gf lets me get away with it, in part because i only get to see her at various points of the year (as she lives in Holland). So in between visits it's kinda a gf substitute (not in that way :rotfl)

Plus she's a LotR fan and I got her the Legolas swords as a present as I knew she'd never spend that much money on herself.

I'm her geek and I couldn't be happier :D
