Pray she doesn't read this. There is no such thing as "kidding" to a woman when you refer to her weight.

"No you meant it or you never would have said it!"

in all seriousness my wife may not fully understand all of my purchases towards this hobby but she will offer her comments of praise to something she recognizes,........especially so if it is something i make (bash) myself and i tell her (lie) that it cost 1/4 of the money to do myself than to outright buy...:D
although she does have a bit of questions & i receive weird looks when she sees "the dead" line......:lol..........shes not really zombie friendly per say.....

My main concern is how tacky some of these things look together. I think I have achieved a good balance now and only display a few quality items. This may be why some of your wives and GFs hate this hobby so much. It really becomes a bunch of colorful clutter to them and encroaches on their "classy" living space.

I'm trying very hard not to over-display my crap. I came into this hobby thinking I'd come out with maybe 4-5 figures. With pre-orders and what I have now I'm over 7. I'd love to get into PFs, but they're not really book shelf friendly and I disagree with most of the poses I come across on fixed 1/4. Not a fan of bases either. I have seen some pretty wicked pf collections though.

I just gave my GF the keyboard and........:lol

Well, I think you are all a bit nuts.....but then I always did enjoy things out of the norm!!! So, to respond, I like the details in alot of these collectibles. The likenesses and clothing on some is VERY realistic and impressive. I have been very supportive of this hobby, until it took over the back room, then the biggest wall in the living room and then was overtaking MY one miniscule display shelf, like an Alien burying its enemy in slime ... :rotfl That is when I drew the line!!! And the doll clothes!! That causes me to shudder...but at least its not Barbie! :yuck And I warned him that if he was drooling too much over the female versions I might get jealous! And as for the funds, as long as bills are paid I don't get TOO pissed. At least its not completely money down the drain. There is nothing boring about collectors! :chew

My wife is the one that got me back into the hobby, so she's obviously cool with it. Most of our collection is mutual decisions; I'd say half of "my portion" were bought by her. As to the expense, she's also into the Ball-jointed Rezin Dolls, so she has absolutely NO room to complain. How's that for a great arrangement?...PS

My girlfriend doesn't mind at all, she knows they make me happy. Every time I get a new piece, I have a huge smile on my face for the rest of the day and she knows how giddy I get.

We have already come to the mutual decision that when we get married, I get the entire basement. I can decorate it however I want, so that means movie posters on the walls, my dvd collection, and a (hopefully) huge theater screen with my collectibles around.

my hubby got me into it. I think he posted on the first page. :lol Im really glad that we have a hobby we do together. even if we collect totally different things. :D

my wife is very supportive
some of my best pieces were gifts from her (master replicas clone helmet and pf obi wan)
thought were still living in an apartment so space is a problem , i try not to exibit all of my pieces at the same time
thought she doesn´t like the hot toys predators... not that thats stoping me

It makes more sense, you have something to show for your money for a lot longer than you'd have your hangover.

I love buying my gf Lord of the Rings pieces as she loves the films and the books, I'll make a collector of her yet ;)

My wife is a fangirl and she supports my toys 1000%. I used to feel a bit guilty buying my expensive HT Predators and SS DEAD zombies, but now she's gotten into the Japanese/Korean/Chinese Ball Jointed Dolls which are just insanely expensive :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2 , so now my purchases look modest in comparison. I mean, we are on a budget, but shoes for her things cost $40 each. That's almost a SS zombie! So now I tease her when she gets shoes for her dolls by playing with a zombie in front of her and asking her how she is enjoying her dolly footware.

I'm curious, do you have any pictures or links to show me what those dolls are?
