Re: ZaCHw117's Collection/Hoodrat B/S thread

I don't plan on it until it comes out on blu...

It's really good man you should check it out. Definitely one for the theaters.

What do you guys think about Oscar noms? Best actor and picture category noms were a bit of a shock.

Re: ZaCHw117's Collection/Hoodrat B/S thread

They always are. :lol

Silver Linings Playbook for Best Picture and Cooper for Best Actor was a big surprise after only watching the trailer. Looked fairly typical and definitely not Oscar material. However, I just finished watching it and I can see why it's gathered so many noms. Great acting by everyone and some really amazing camera work helps separate it from your standard dramedy rom. If you haven't seen it yet I would recommend you check it out.

Re: ZaCHw117's Collection/Hoodrat B/S thread

I really want to see Silver Linings Playbook... it does seem like an odd choice for Best Picture, Best Actor, etc. but I've heard some amazing things about the performances. Plus, to top it off, it has De Niro. :clap :yess:

I think all of the other noms are accurate- especially ZDT. I did think End of Watch and Skyfall did get snubbed though.

Re: ZaCHw117's Collection/Hoodrat B/S thread

Yeah cause I never do that:exactly::monkey3 And I'm totally NOT going to do that right now:monkey1:lecture Because it's wrong.

:lol:rotfl :lol
No not at all- they executed it exactly how it went down with the SEALs in real life. I.e. being shot at first, UBL unarmed, whispering Khalid's name and then having him poke his head around the corner, etc. That was my favourite scene of the raid, just watching that dumb SOB get his head blown off. Curiosity certainly killed the cat haha.

Spoiler post about ZDT, don't open it!!

That's what I assumed.

Hey, who was the individual in Osama's fortress who the CIA didn't know of? The one who rarely went outside, and when he did get some fresh air, he was obscured by the shrubbery

Bin Laden- there was no way to tell if they were male or female, or young or old through the satellites. But they assumed it was someone who was of high value (possibly UBL) as Bin Laden built the shrubbery so the satellites couldn't pick up who it was. In the end they assumed it was him and sent the SEALs and hoped for the best. They didn't even know it was Khaled Bin Laden either- it was sheer luck that the SEAL just happened to whisper his name anyways. I think Khaled thought he had the option to surrender when they were calling his name so he looked anyways. Wrong!

Also, UBL walked with a cane- always. If the CIA saw a man walking with a cane, I'm pretty sure they would have identified him and dropped a bomb instead...

Oh right. I kinda thought that the individual was some kind of ex-militia bodyguard for Bin Laden who would've proved a real threat to the SEAL's.

Haha, curiosity called the cat, that's for sure.

I wasn't never really interested in this event so I wasn't sure how it actually played out.

Fair enough- I was in Mexico at the time and I freaked out. I was so happy- and then they issued a travel warning for all North American citizens and I got paranoid lol.

Those SEALs have HUGE ***** though man- when they first shot UBL through the door, the pointman grab his two wives and threw them into the corner in case they had a suicide vest trying to protect the rest of the team. Thank God they didn't but just the sheer sacrifice they offer to each other is unreal.

Maybe it had something to do with Australia never being in the picture. (luckily)

I can imagine your excitement when you heard the news! To hear that the man who murdered countless of American's finally being killed must been a real great moment for everyone.

Was it ever confirmed that Bin Laden orchestrated the 9/11 bombings?

Exactly. I think they really would have taken a bullet for one another.

Oh yea- plus I love hearing about the SEALs. Have you ever seen Act of Valor? It's an awesome SEAL flick. Great action.

Yup- Bin Laden published a public video of him taking responsibility for the AQ's operation against the "Western infidels". It's on Youtube somewhere along with all his other rubbish broadcasts.

More than a bullet- there have been a few SEALs who have received the MOH for jumping on top of grenades to save their brothers.

I've heard about it, and it's piss-poor reviews. :p But the action, like you said, looks quite good, so I'll probably check it out. I believe they actually used real SEAL's!

Oh wow. What a disgrace to the human race.

That's the kind of thing you only ever see in the movies. Just incredible.

Oh yeah, and Zach, nice score on the Boromir. How much did you end up getting it for? Is it the exclusive?

Re: ZaCHw117's Collection/Hoodrat B/S thread

Aragorn? Yeah he's the ex. Got him for 70$ Shipped.

Oh right, yeah. Noice. :hi5:

Now, if you could only find both the Aragorn and Legolas Darren Carnall sculpts.
