The dialogue in Killing Me Softly was good but it just wasn't interesting. The film had no visual style, James Gandolfinis character was boring and completely unnecessary to the plot, there was no character development, none of the characters had any depth to them except maybe McNairy's character and the plot itself had a muddled structure. The subject matter is also very dull to begin with. It's a shame because the trailer was so good and promised something a lot better.

What do you mean by visual style? I loved the cinematography- very unique, especially the heroine scenes. It wasn't a flashy film or anything, but are mob films supposed to be? It's usually dreary, rainy and dark.

I liked James Galdofini's character as well because it breaks away from the typical hitman. You get this washed up drunk instead of this stone-cold killer. And as a result of it, Brad Pitt's character can't "kill them softly" and has to get messy. I think theme here is that you can't rely on anyone anymore and if you want something done then you have to get your own hands dirty. And then it uses the Obama-McCain speeches as the bull**** in the story as none of the crap that they said was true.

But obviously I respect your opinion, it wasn't for everyone!

The raid was so intense man and I'm happy they kept it true to it's form... no Michael Bay BS. I love the scene when the SEAL calls out "Khaled..., Khaled..." and then the dumb SOB turns around the corner and boom! headshot! Go back a few pages and read what Walker and I were talking about.
