Zack said his definitive version is the JL gray edition (B&W) but WB wanted the color release first he has butt heads with WB from beginning to end lol

Like anything else out of Hollywood if it’s a huge success you will see the gray version as he promised but if it bombs no more SCJL

Should of just put them out at the same time and let people choose, but im sure they're trying to make an event of releasing it later as they've only got a few more films left to put on HBO max that anyone is going to care about.

Why black and white tho? It's a superhero film with thousands of CGI effects, colorful costumes, and settings. Does Snyder think he's making Ragin Bull or Schindler's List? He's more pretentions than Nolan. At least Nolan can somewhat back it up tho.

There's been quite a few black and white versions of dc comics, particularly, Batman comics, over the years so it's probably a bit of homage to that.

I'm interested to see it in that context, but I wouldn't likely watch it as my first viewing. Like you said, all the new effects shots etc are likely to be better in full color.

I can think of a few comic films that work in in black and white, like Logan or Sin City. I think The Crow or Spawn could work in B/W. With Spawn, I'd keep the eyes green and the cape red tho. It would look cool. But Superman? Not for me.

Well, the guy is a fighter, I'll give him that. Just released by Ray. I guess ZSJL is his final debut on screen. :lol

With DC but people might see his performance and pick him up for something else.

He is not the only one who got screwed over buy Studios. It started with Zack and then ben and ray and cavil .

Given that all these people are not coming back they the DCEU is dead . It's just these movies that exist on their ane build to nothing. Reboot reboot that is all they know.

What a shame.

Johns was against Fisher playing the "angry black man" stereotype? What a monster!! :dunno

The way I understand it, they were against an "angry black man" being the center of the movie, i.e. the the "soul" of the movie, as Snyder put it. It probably went against their desire to make a lighter, more friendly JL movie. I don't think it's about fearing some "stereotype"...
If they had said "we can't have an angry man at the center of the movie" it would've been alright, and no one would've payed attention, but the fact that they put (consciously or unconsciously) "black" in the phrase just makes it sound bad (and racist).
And if they indeed did get rid of any black people in the movie, well then... what can I say...

It doesn’t make a lick of sense and will also make for some ugly hot toys lol

I agree about Spawn good call
