Ray Fisher definitely thinks that JL is an issue of black and white.
The way I understand it, they were against an "angry black man" being the center of the movie, i.e. the the "soul" of the movie, as Snyder put it. It probably went against their desire to make a lighter, more friendly JL movie. I don't think it's about fearing some "stereotype"...
If they had said "we can't have an angry man at the center of the movie" it would've been alright, and no one would've payed attention, but the fact that they put (consciously or unconsciously) "black" in the phrase just makes it sound bad (and racist).
And if they indeed did get rid of any black people in the movie, well then... what can I say...

As far as I can tell the only significant black character cut was Iris West. Fisher still had a large role (arguably more significant than Aquaman & Flash), as did Joe Morton. But when they were tasked with getting down to 2 hours from the 4 hours plus that Snyder had put together, you're not dedicating more screen time to Cyborg's story at the expense of the Big 3. That's not a decision that's motivated by race, it's just common sense. Now obviously that decision didn't work out, but I don't think even MORE Cyborg within a 2 hour run time edict would have worked either.

On the contrary the movie should show case Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman more prominently as Superman is dead for the most of the movie and we have already seen Batman and Wonder Woman in BvS the 3 characters who needed more time were Aquaman Flash and Cyborg . And this is not the first time the screwed a movie. You can clearly see they cut out scenes for cyborg that were shown in the trailers. They did the same crap to Leto in suicide squad another movie they wanted to make fun and light and they messed with. Can't disagree with that statement.
I wonder if Snyder's Flash will have a different personality?
The Flash is one of the worst parts of this movie. Other than a recast, there is no way to improve him..
I still can't believe they are still going ahead with a Flash movie staring him.
Yeah I understand the business point of it hence why batman is basicly james bond constantly being rebooted. But this movie really need 3 hours like BvS. 2 hours was ridiculous or they should have done the traditional every character has his own and bring them together for a team up. I guess he figured I pulled it off I'm BvS I can do it here too.I see your point, but I think in the overall plan that WB set in motion with Whedon, they felt they needed to rely on their big guns, AKA Batman and Wonder Woman, not "waste" time with the lesser characters.
I don't agree with the decisions they made, but I think the Buff's argument makes sense.
You are NOT buying hats off the rack, that's for sure!
