Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

Some Marvel fans here apparently can't deal with JL getting good will and Zack working again in the DCEU. They protest abit too much-obvious.

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

I liked that the DCEU actively tried to be different from the MCU, before Josstice League. I’m willing to bet it would’ve been appreciated in the long run, I mean if the prequels are actively defended then I’m sure movies that are actually decent would be too.

So what you two are saying is that a brand new JL movie from the guy proclaimed the savior of the DCEU from the anti Marvel establishment warrior Zack Snyder himself the one true genius of superhero movies that his brand new JL movie is not worthy of a theatrical release.

So what you two are saying is that instead of getting together with all of the other Zach fanatics in a movie theater to enjoy what was supposed to be the DCEU fan event version of an Avengers movie you would rather watch his magnum opus over a freaking 6 week period!

So what you two are saying is that deep inside Snyders heart he is happy his masterpiece will not be enjoyed in a movie theater with his diehard fans that started the movement and instead be consumed no different than a CW show you are telling me that this was always his ultimate goal with his JL!

I can?t believe DC fans especially the Snyder cut fans are actually pleased with the end result of their movement being a JL tv series.

What will those 6 weeks break period do to the narrative, action and pace of his vision.

Seems to me WB is failing Snyder again or should that be the other way around.

In a perfect world, Justice League would’ve been released as Zack intended, albeit delayed, in theaters. I’m glad to be getting it at all, but with the money they’re dumping in I’m surprised they aren’t giving it even a limited theatrical run to help recoup some money. Is there even a way to see if it’s a hit on a streaming service?

Streaming data is definitely tracked but what they choose to release and based on what rules constitute a viewing is another story lol

My sentiments also. BvS UE I recall hit select theaters for an evening in the June after the March it came out worldwide in theaters.

The DCEU phase one films I believe made more than the MCU phase one films, but I also believe that had a lot to do with the fact that the MCU had established the superhero hype train already after the first Avengers film. However, I also think that the DCEU phase one films were better films than the MCU phase one films. Iron Man was good for instance, but not that good. IM2 I’d be fine if I never saw it again, Thor 1 was meh, Captain America TFA I think is enjoyable, but as a film I admit it was nothing special.

WB though was just so desperate to be on the same level as the MCU which was already well established into phase two at the time MoS came out (which they then further waited three years to release BvS while deciding what they wanted to do with their universe) that they had a knee-jerk reaction to even the slightest bit of criticism as opposed to staying the course.

I'll be freakin shocked if the app won't be on Roku and Fire Tv until 2021, but the articles I've read today...both can't come up with a deal with HBO Max

What a sorry debut and trust me if you go on Social Media..millions are pissed:slap

People complained about D+ but their release went out a lot smoother :lecture

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

WB should have pushed the date back for Justice League. Zack Snyder's daughter killed herself. You as a studio need to step back and do the right thing, instead of throw someone in there and undo either half or most of what the movie was planned to be. Anyone watching it can see the tone totally shift from one scene to the next. I bet I could easily pick dialogue and scenes that Whedon shoehorned in there. Yes, BVS wasn't totally satisfying, nor where you could see JL was going, but let it play out when most of the movie was already filmed, if not all of it. That is the bed you made when you scheduled the movies that close together. Justice (pun intended?) seems to be served here.

I’m so excited to see the proper movie.

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

Meanwhile Cavill is reportedly in talks to reprise Supes as a cameo/supporting character, so the DCU as we know it is intact.

I'm just glad it's being released, streaming is the future it seems so I'm not too angry about no theatrical release. I remember people on this board doubting the reasons that he stepped back and thinking there were other reasons. People make their own assumptions based on no evidence I guess.

Personally I loved bvs and man of Steel, hated justice league. I'm sad that snyder didn't get a longer run, with more planning and some luck it could have been a great alternative to MCU. But it was not to be, and even if cavill comes back, affleck is done unfortunately. There are a lot of rabid snyder haters but thankfully the fans won in the end!

So the fans won by having a brand new JL movie the equivalent of the Avengers meant for a shared group theatrical experience split up into 6 episodes on TV.

So Darkseid who PRECEDED Thanos gets treated with that kind of respect, umm ok WHY?

So Darkseid introduction will be relegated to the small screen.

I would not consider it a WIN had Avengers/AOU/IW/EG had been split up into tv freaking episodes but I guess thats just me.

DC fans are weird lol

It's a win that we'll finally see Snyder's vision, and they're spending $20m on it. I'll take that over the alternative.

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

So I guess cavill superman will be the Reeve superman to? I swear DC wants to please everyone but can?t

Speaking for myself, I'm a superhero movie fan first and foremost, so if this is well done and enjoyable it won't bother me in the least. But you'll notice I said movie fan, so I'm in Jye's camp in that I would prefer it be released in theaters. And regardless of how many hours long it ends up being on HBO Max, it won't erase the mistakes WB/DC made starting with BvS of rushing the shared world process, nor will it make me forget the disappointment I felt watching it unfold on screen for the first time.

As for Darkseid, I'll admit to not knowing his backstory (I didn't know who Thanos was in 2012 either), but if Snyder didn't want people to mock him then he shouldn't have shared a photo ripe for derision. I mean seriously, what is the average person supposed to make of that? And what's with the tiny head? Is it because the CGI for it wasn't done, or is the body actually his version of a Hulkbuster suit? I mean, the proportions are that far off.
