On the one hand yes I would agree that it's pretty narratively sloppy to not clue the audience in to answering such an obvious question that pretty much everyone immediately asked but on the other hand 5,000 or however many years of "gods" doing their thing in a separate universe gives a lot of handwave leeway with regard to a vast multitude of possible explanations as to why he lost track of Earth. And since I loved the movie I'm going to go with Zack's handwave.

I binged The Boys seasons 1 & 2 just prior to the ZSJL coming out, and when she blew that guy up in front of those kids I was thinking she'd fit right in on that show. Homelander's got nothing on Diana!

I?m just going to come out and say it while I love EG Cap the 3rd act in Aquaman is way more ambitious and over the top than anything in EG.



Ocean Master final battle costume and AM gold costume are some of my favorite superhero costumes ever put on film.

I would say that Aquaman is one of the highlights of the entire superhero movie genre.
Superhero movies are really not supposed to be Citizen Kane or Ingmar Bergman, they should be fun, exciting, eye candy that give you a true sense of wonderment and joy.
Aquaman does that as well, if not better, than any other film in the genre.
It?s fun and beautiful to look at.

I feel like Aquaman is really fun but quite forgettable. That said now I feel like I should watch it again. I always seem to remember enjoying it and at least with it being quite forgettable I get to re-experience it cold over and over, lol.

You can’t go a post without mentioning at least one of them. That’s unhealthy. Do you secretly obsess over them? I've tried to watch Aquaman two times. I never made it to the end without skipping and putting it at 3.0x speed. It's too long for what it is. I warmed up to Aquamomoa, it's got Dafoe, Patrick Wilson and Morrison, but it just doesn't click. Too flashy, too silly, too all over the place. Heard herself puts me off the flick entirely as well. I used to think she was okay, but after Depp and the "Bed Incident", I can't look at her. Anyway, for me, it's the movie equivalent of those knockoff plastic toy guns with the lights everywhere. It needed some trimming down and some less hamminess. Maybe it's just me, since people seem to like it. And I do appreciate that it's a fun, adventure flick that embraces being a comic book, but IMO it went past comic book to "all-ages colouring book". Maybe it's because I've always been a Namor guy. I preferred his personality, demeanor and general look. I hope the MCU will do better, but rumors say Atlantis will, for some reason, be Latino or Chinese coded and I... don't get it all. But we'll see, I suppose. I do want more sea-related entertainment.

Darkseid didn't come to Earth alone, though. How were we supposed to know that *everyone* on his side with knowledge from back then was killed in a bloody war for the throne of Apokolips?

I'm definitely glad to have an answer on it, but I wish there had been a way to squeeze that bit of info somewhere into those 4 hours.
