Wow, you guys weren't kidding. The CW captured Superman's essence in 4 minutes better than Snyder in 3 movies.

I like how wholesome he seems when he tells the kid that his mom made him the suit. Having said that, the Fletcher suit looked awful with those fake muscles that disappear when Clark wears a suit. And Lois, yikes...

Also, Superman gives the kid the baseball cap and then blows it away as soon as he takes off.

Nice clip, but I just can't see the actor as anything but a werewolf now

I'm sure you're just being glib, as always, but what the hell.
I think you're wrong in that analysis...
To me, the core of the character is a good man with a strong moral compass who is always doing his best to help others.
The corny and cheesy bit has more to do with our retrospective perception of the way the character was written and portrayed 50-60 years ago (or even longer). The circumstances, the environment, the world, everything was different.
Snyder's Superman isn't evil, he's not cynical, he doesn't put himself above others. He's just reacting to a completely different world, one that is actually cynical and pretty evil, one where everybody puts themselves above the rest, so it seems only natural that there is doubt, conflict and a certain measure of sadness before Superman can really find his place.

Lol yea I know still Superman isn?t Batman light. He wouldn?t break a guys neck or destroy a whole city to fight someone. Not the character . People loved Superman cause he?s a hopeful character who is like goku and always has a smile on his face and fun loving . He can be mad or angry sometimes but not all the time

A corny cheesy alien? Lol tell that to people that wrote some of the most popular ?dark? Superman stories ever. Kingdom come, Red Son, Superman #22, Final days of Superman, Superman the dark side, Superman and the Legion of Superheroes, etc. And you do realize Batman wasn?t always dark and brooding right? It?s the same with Superman, there?s multiple different interpretations of the character, but his core beliefs and values have stayed the same for the most part.

everyone knows that. What I?m saying is that Batman and Superman are night and day . Stop trying to make them the same by making him this brooding cry baby. I don?t know why people want all the DC properties to be very dark . They can be dark yes but not in a depressing way.

I thought the "Thanks, my mom made it for me" was the best part of that whole intro, except for the costume. That's Superman. It's not like he was talking to an adult. He was genuinely nice and friendly....

Some of these Superman comments on both sides of the aisle are pure gold lol.

All the CW stuff is basically crap to me, though that Superman clip I saw is far from the worst. Still a bit too much for me and I definitely prefer Cavill/Snyder's take on the character but I think there is a time and a place for both.

That’s exactly my point. Nothings off the table anymore. I’d personally want to see him in a proper sequel to Man of Steel. With better writing I feel like he could do a great job.

The only Superman movie that I?ve heard anyone ask for in recent years is a sequel to Man of Steel, so I have no idea why Warner Bros appears to be giving us the Superman movie that nobody asked for.

I hope you?re right and that Cavill?s Superman could at least continue on, maybe on HBO Max as part of the Snyderverse.
