Zack Snyder's SUCKER PUNCH

There is sometimes a lot of blind presumption from some people based on their life experiences, whereas everybody gets judged. The truth is sometimes bad things happen to good people, how you move on from these bad things is totally individual and not entirely broadscape. I understand that sexual molestation and rape are absolutely horrible, but is you believe that is the worst thing that can happen to a child then you are certainly limited in your grasp of worldwide atrocities. I am fortunate to have survived some ridiculous hardships and atrocities, my younger brother and older sister not so fortunate. But I most certainly don't associate any of my experiences with what is an art of entertainment. Going to movies!

Sorry to change subjects here, but I just realized that Baby Doll's weapons(the Sword, and 1911 Colt)(I think that's what it was) were based from the the Step Father's letter opener(Samurai Sword) and his 1911 Colt Pistol, I believe the charms are connected to her little sister in some way.

Yeah man, I didn't catch any of those things my first time seeing it,(besides the little sister's pink rabbit), it's head is painted on Amber's Mech during the WWI sequence. I really do like this movie, I'm a huge Snyder fan

The Art of Sucker Punch book, breaks down all the art work on the sword, and pistol as well as the charms. pretty cool. Even the collar pins on the police officers at the end said SP not sure if that's special police or sucker punch. said it before, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

You cant read this because you "DERP DERP IGNORE" but to it WAS intended to make you think. You're fooling yourself if you think other wise. Yes....it aint deep....but theres things you have to pay attention too in the background, in the worlds, everything, that connects Baby Doll to her past. Or her future. It's not a mindless action movie. Period. There's thought put into it...even if it wasnt clear at times. So not perfect thought....

So YES...people have to think this movie through, because we get what it's doing, what it's saying....the people who didnt, and this doesnt make them idiots...or trolls or anything....the movie simply didnt click with them.

You know, I still haven't purchased that yet. I didn't want to ruin the movie for myself(I would have ended up reading it before I saw it).

It really was a great movie.

It cracks me up that most people defending the movie are saying how people are looking too deeply into things, but now are talking about all the hidden symbols and meanings contained in the movie. I pretty much feel the same way about the movie as you, I just didn't like it as much.

Why do they go into the fantasy world? Why is there 2 levels of fantasy?

They may be, but the way the film is set up is asking for it. As I said earlier, you can't make a film with multiple fantasy world sequences and not be expecting it to be analyzed to death. Sucker Punch is not being singled out. Every movie that has done something similar has had the same thing happen to it.

Exactly. I mean all the people(including most critics) who thought it was just a "mindless action flick with hot chicks kicking ass" probably only went in there thinking that's what it was....and as a result that's what they saw in the movie itself(if that makes sense )

I myself got more from the movie, paid attention, noticed small details, and feel like I understood it better/connected with it, as a result.

There is a lot of symbolism and undertones in the film, for sure. But it wasn't intended to mind-____ anyone or change lives.
