Did you feel like Shirley McClain?

Just kidding. :lol

After Pierre Corneille staged Le Cid, it was gutted by the French Academie for not obeying the Classical unities of time, place, and action, as well as for being immoral. He conceded, even going so far as to edit the play. None of his later works compared to Le Cid. Mediocre at best.

It was a financial success though (pre-controversy). Having the critics A-bomb you, and then fail at the box office has to suck, even if you loved what you made.

i enjoyed the film but didn't think babydolls alternate reality within another alternate reality worked..to cleaver for its own good.

The girls, costumes and sets were mindblowingly awesome so i will get the dvd

Who did you guys think were the strongest actors? I think Jena Malone, Abbie Cornish and Oscar Isaac all did a great job.

And that's it. I didnt really care for her at all really. :dunno

Amber was OK. I liked her sucker, and her Mech moment. :rock

That was pretty much their parts. :dunno

Oscar Issac was really good. He played the condensation of every undersized black t-shirt wearing Bowflex gel spiked duck's ass strip club dweller pig____er that's ever walked. He was the black heart of Jersey Shore played for the haters. I wanted to disembowel him in his prime as the pimp, and I wanted to stomp him like a roach when he turned back into the diminutive maggot that he was in real life at the end. It was like he shrunk and developed scoliosis. I was impressed.

It's official. I am totally obsessed with this movie. I haven't been this obsessed since the first Matrix. Just looked through the art book again and it's just amazing!

I thought the Disney chick carried her big moment pretty convincingly.

I ws expecting her to break out into song when the gun was pointed at her. Btw why was her and blue in the that room at the end. What was his deal?

I'm baised because I hate all things Disney TV.....:monkey3

But, yes, Issac was awesome. He was an epic piece of ____. I like how he was different in each reality. It worked out.

His last scene was Baby Doll was great. "No....no..that's not right."

Im with you, im thinking I might go see it again this weekend :hi5:

This was a great flic! Forget the haters! I dont care if Diary of a whimpy kid did better, what does that say about anything. Britney Spears tops the charts, can she sing...NO...welcome to America.

I had bought the art book and didn't want to "read" it for fear of spoilers. But looking through it now - I have to say that perhaps Zach didn't really have any concrete idea about if the girls are real or part of Babydoll's psychosis. I get the impression that the 2 levels of fantasy are as deep as it gets.

Of course, there can be other levels not intended by the artist - that is what usually makes great art. However if an audience perceives levels that aren't there - it can lead to self delusion.

Anyone see "Exit through the Gift Shop?" - great documentary about the relationship between art and audience.

I enjoyed Exit Through the Gift Shop, especially since I was already familiar with the whole Mr. Brainwash thing. It was interesting seeing how it all came about. I am still not sure if the whole thing isn't just some put on by Banksy to prove that people will buy anything if it is hyped up enough.

Loved it that it is open to perception. How I perceive it may not be how you do. I think Babydoll actually had a mental breakdown not being able to deal with the death of her mother and sister. That is why we only see her yelling from that point on. She had some lucid moments and thats when she helped one of the girls escape.

Was she being raped by blue on that bathroom . What was up with that guy at the end he started crying and such.

At least the critics have SEEN the damn movie they are ripping apart or praising. my thing was with people not even seeing it for themselves and just listening to other randoms who have their own perception of what is good and what sucks.

Ive seen many movies that critics have nothing but praise for but to me personally i thought it was a pile of ____.

I thought Sucker Punch was good. I do agree that the ending was a bit abrupt and bland. But the action sequences are pretty bad ass...and who doesn't like seeing hot chicks in skimpy outfits kicking some ass with each other. Overall this movie was exactly what I expected it to be before I even saw it.

And anyone hating this movie, you better not like star wars, transformers, any marvel movie, or 80's action movies like Rambo, terminator, and predator or you are just one huge hypocrite.

Watched this tonight and I totally agree with you. It was exactly what I expected going in. I enjoyed it. And the look on her face was actually one of happiness, peace and the freedom she was seeking. Not the reaction Blue was expecting. She probably escaped to an alternate reality where her mother and sister were alive. At least that's what I'd like to believe.
