But did the 3 really die? They were all killed in fantasy sequences - and there was no mention of their deaths in "reality". If they did die, how did they? All 3 from that orderly guy that got taken away in the end? This movie left me a bit confused. All that was really mentioned was that the Baby Doll character started a lot of trouble, fighting, starting a fire, etc...but no mention of the other girls.

Well if you think about it, would Sweetpea have left without her sister if she were still alive?

Though I doubt there would have been guns available for Blue to shoot the girls with in the real world. Plus if the doctor were able to call the police after she found out he forged the signature on the lobotomy paperwork, then she would have certainly called the police if the guy shot two of the girls.

You can't assume Sweetpea and Rocket were sisters in the real world. For that matter, the girls in the fantasy world may have only been subjective representations of girls in the real world. As it's been suggested before, other than what the doctor states at the end (orderly stabbed, fire, escaped patient), we can't be sure of anything represented in the fantasy realm.

But then your assuming Babydoll stole the knife to stab the orderly, stole the lighter to start the fire and stole the map to help the patient escape all on her own.

Maybe they were killed some other way in reality, and covered up, and only shot in the alternate reality.

I saw this yesterday and was pleasently surprised. 7/10 for me. only about 12 people in the theatre though...

There is one thing that I am interested in by some of the people who defend this movie, but bash on Avatar for being unoriginal.
I mean there is nothing wrong in liking the movie, but you have to admit this movie is just as guilty in blatantly ripping off the likes of Brazil and Pan's labyrinth, to name but two.

Avatar's story was unoriginal. What Sucker Punch has in common with those other movies is the way it told the story.

Avatar bothered me less for using a story that's been told many times, than it did for the fact that I don't like the story.

I don't think there's a correlation between people that bashed Avatar and people that liked Sucker Punch

I've never seen Avatar nor have any desire too. The previews reminded me of Ferngully. Sucker Punch was exactly what the previews promised and no more.

I said SOME of the people. It was not a generalisation, it is specifically aimed at people who bash Avatar for being unoriginal, but defend this movie when it's just as guilty.

At least Avatar was more coherent than this mess

Was she being raped by blue on that bathroom . What was up with that guy at the end he started crying and such.

My interpritation(sp) of that sequence was this:

Blue went to round up the girls(Baby Doll was in the bathroom cleaning) and as they're being led past his office you see him collecting money from some of the other employees.

I'm assuming that he's selling the girls into forced "prostitution" so to speak, which is when the "Brothel" sub reality comes in. Which helps the girls cope with what's actually happening to them.

As far as Blue crying when he was attempting to have his way with Baby Doll, was because she had this "At Peace" look to her face, she wasn't resisting, fighting, or showing any emotion at all really. Hence his
"No....this isn't right..." comment.

My other thoughts:

Blue just took money from the other employees(in essence a "pimp"), so they could rape the girls(there was NO actual rape in the movie but it was still implied)

Blue got tired of everyone else having the "fun" so to speak and when he finally was able to have his way with Baby Doll it didn't live up to his expectations.

My thoughts exactly. The "Brothel" sub reality was created(by who exaclty I'm not sure) to help the girls cope with what was actually happening to them(IMHO the Brothel reality was probably more "graceful" and less "demeaning" then what was happening to them in actual reality).

Another thing I noticed, was when Blue took Baby Doll into the "theater" after she first arrives, it was either Amber, or Blondie that was fighting with some other girl but he called by another name(I'm assuming their real one). I'd need to watch it again to make 100% sure of this though.

There's just so much speculation and thought, that we can put into this movie haha, I haven't watched a movie that made me think this much in awhile. I love it :lol

Also I want to add that even though did not like the movie, I still think it could gain a cult status, much like Rocky Horror Picture Show, or Showgirls (Which is another film it reminded me of)
