If HT don't make a figure for him I'll be so disappointed.
Guess what....You're gonna be

Perfect amount of both. He had the coolest action scene in the movie and he looked good doing it.

Same. I feel like this movie was carried by 2 things: Deadpool/Wolverine dynamic and the Cameos. If HT doesn't take a little chance and cash in on some of these cameos, then they either can't or just plain nearsighted.

They’re not even cameos really, they’re full on supporting roles.

About to be the #1 R-Rated movie of all time. They gotta cash in.

I think Gambit would have looked better if they had made his hair a lighter color and given it more volume.

I can't decide if Gambit looks cool AF or goofy AF!
The answer is... Yes.

Tatum is miscast AF as Gambit.

The outfit is perfection; it's just on completely the wrong body type with an even more wrong head on top.

Such a shame X-23 didn't get a super suit- although it makes sense since (as far as I'm concerned) she's from the Logan timeline.

I got the impression that Gambit was supposed to be 'comic accurate' to the point of parody. His costume was that solid rubber suit, sort of like the earlier Batman costumes. You could tell that he had trouble turning his head because of that weird 'head sock' thing, which doesn't make any sense in real life.

The accent was weird ... it just felt like they decided "Let's just have fun with it." From what I remember, Channing Tatum really, really wanted to do the role, he put a lot of effort into trying to get the move made, so I think they just wanted to go for broke, as it were. The Gambit costume didn't really have that MCU flair, with the rivets and 'waffle texture' look that all the suits usually have.

It literally felt like Gambit was from a different universe, very much a place of "what could have been." So for that reason, I think a figure would be very cool to have.

The accent is pretty spot on from Cajun accents I’ve heard. The voice in other X-Men media like the cartoons is very toned down.

I've been an advocate for more comic-accurate costumes going back to the original Batman movie. But, I have to admit that some just don't work without some form of tweaking and I agree with Swedish that, as with short Wolvie, they went to extremes for the purpose of parody.

As for the accent, it does sound silly, but as someone who lives in south Louisiana, genuine cajun accents are a bit silly. Not that silly, though :D

Yeah her civilian outfit and glasses was a fun Logan, Laura call back.
Yet would have preferred seeing her go into battle in full X-23 outfit.

And that might have better inspired a figure, to go with her suited up "dad".

True!
instead-of-bringing-back-hugh-for-mom-why-not-use-x-23-as-v0-lf2xgteiwng81.jpg

X-23/ Dafne Keen Fernández civilian outfit details:
Denim jacket (now a cutoff), t-shirt, and boots, clearly meant to evoke what she wore in Logan, though swapped the Unicorn Rainbow shirt, for something more savage.

Also deliver she has an "X" belt buckle.

Since the xmen are under the Disney banner I hope we get x-23 and gambit. Hot toys is a more of a Disney company after all more then anything

Love the Gambit photos. Makes me laugh.

How does he pull that thing over his head?

Why does he only have armor on his shins?

Nothing about his costume makes sense functionally, and I love it! It's like they said "You want comic accurate movie costumes?!?! We'll show you a comic accurate movie costume"

Hell if he's only ever gonna get one shot to play the character then may as well go all out eh?

So much about Gambit was perfect- not for an actual Gambit movie, but for what it was- a half-baked idea that never came to fruition. From the over the top accent to the gleefully comic-accurate (if not visually appealing) costume, it was all just right. This is one of those movies that, yes, is oversaturated with cameos, etc, but they are all done so well and so lovingly. I LOVE that Channing Tatum's haircut is... the one he had to announce Gambit in 2015.

I think the thing that's getting me...what else did people expect Gambit's outfit to look like? I mean that's about as 1:1 transition to screen as you can get. It's not even MCU-ified, the usual complaint for costumes these days.

It's perfect to me, and Channing Tatum was perfect as him. I'm sad we never got his solo movie.
