I paid 180 + 30 shipping(to US) for 2 suits from 2ouble8ight. They give a discount if you order multiple

This was their version on the original ANH vader. It fits tight and is pretty stiff, so it has its plus/minus. I like that it's not as ribbed like the original and that other one for sale. I think they said theirs is designed to fit the RO body, but it fits on all of them
Thats half the price these guys are asking. Yes, it includes boots, but the fact they are incorrect is bugging me. I think I will pass and wait for the 50th anni Vader 🤣🤣🤣. If Im still alive by then

Haha yeah. I think a nylon one would be the best since I figure it would give the correct texture and be flexible. None of the custom options are gonna be cheap. I thought it was a fair price on what I got. I'm happy enough with them

The Hong Kong company I bought the figure from got back to me saying that the this Darth Vader helmet is "supposed to have that damage" and offered me some store credit.

To be honest it's ruined the figure for me. I'm really not that into the figure now as I know it's damaged. Kind of a bummer for what could have been a cool figure.

The thoughts of trying to buff it out and then making it worse is freaking me out.
The battle damage on the helmet makes sense, as this Vader version represents the final duel from the end of the movie. Maybe it was only added to a few of the batches.

Along with painted-on helmet scar that was on mine, there is also a faded sliver paint effect on the chest/shoulder armour. Again probably done to emphasize battle damage.

Seriously, buffing out the painted-on scars on the helmet is pretty simple to do, and it will look as good as new.

For those interested, here's a Vader boot comparison. Rounded is best.

Yeah the taller boot pegs give the figure some much needed height. Also using the taller R1/OWK body (with better arm/shoulder articulation) along with the chest/shoulder armour makes the perfect HT Vader figure.

Got mine yesterday and the dome is flawless. Sounds like some sellers are either being lazy or can’t get replacement parts.

Well, my replacement arrived.

The chest is fine this time, but the helmet now has the same scuffs on the helmet (thankfully less pronounced this time) and a new scuff mark above his left eye that wasn't on the previous sculpt x.x

I'll just keep it but I'll always know it's there lol

I'll probably try to pick up another helmet for esb vader at some point anyway...

My second ESB Vader (banquet hall WIP this time) with new ROTJ helmet upgrade. Sparks, stand and high backed chair still being made.

I noticed that the very bottom of the removed ESB helmet has a small area where the pleather of the top of the cape seems to have reacted with the gun metal paint (could possibly be just a rub but seems more like reaction.)

Definitely better than the original ESB helmet that caused me to skip that release. I was thinking about getting an extra RoTJ helmet for my RO body but the pegs on the head seem inverted. (RotJ the male peg is in the helmet and RO the male peg on the body and both different size). In the end I don't display 2 Vaders on my shelf anyways

Finally got my vaders from sideshow and the laying down, my own eyes pose, doesn’t work at all. First, he does not fit comfortably in the detolf laying down and it just looks like a doll. Stinks because that is how I planned to display him, with Luke kneeling.
Back to the drawing board. I was going to use the stairs base as a ramp to lay on. Doesn’t look natural though.
Also, does the collar get tucked under the helmet or is it outside in Jedi? Anyone remember?

I saw someone do a pretty good recreation of this pose, so that's another option which would work in a detolf.

That’s looks great but I just wanted to use the Shaw sculpt. I may finally bite the bullet and get a garage shelf. It might look better that way. I think no matter what it will look more toyish and not lay naturally. We only really saw anakin from the chest up. Didn’t see him full body laying down.
The things i worry about lol.

Did you take a pic of the WIP pose? Was still thinking about doing that pose with the stairs too.

There are other final battle poses I was contemplating that have huge issues too: I thought about trying to use a HT flying stand arm (like for flying Jango etc.) to try the "picking up/tossing Palps" pose but I realized that the Vader pleather jumpsuit is at maximum tension with the arms that raised up, and shoulder armor pretty much blocks the arms being raised that much (like where he's holding Palps aloft) anyway. Now not even sure how they did it with the real costume.

He doesn’t ab crunch much more. I’m just going to put him on the stand. Not movie accurate but it doesn’t look good laying down.
