It can probably be futzed better, but in those shots, the opening and drape of the cape on the chest armor is not right. The cape should be opening up more, with each side more diagonally to almost horizontally going away from the neck (depending on the scene), instead of nearly straight down.

I have no idea how screen accurate it is, but I swapped over my ESB cape onto this figure and I love how it looks.

Guys, today decided to turn on the lights on my Vader and the belt is not constantly on, but is blinking. Not quickly, there is a noticeable pause between the lights going on and off, but still, this was not how it worked when I got him. Is it the HT junction box acting up?

How tall is this big boy with the red base? Anyone knows if it'll fit in a detolf on the top shelf without being to close to the top?

Well the whole USB powered lighting seems to have created a list of issues pretty much on-par with (even if different to) the older button battery powered systems.

Aside from a surprising number of helmet QC issues, the electrics in this figure seems to be emerging as the other major issue - both in reliability (even right of the box) and fragility.

These along with a kind of bad "no-drape cape" and yet another ticking time bomb pleather bodysuit instead of nylon as it should have been.

Looks like Monkey Depot has the Shaw head and exclusive helmet if anyone is looking for those. I still haven't displayed either of those, just enjoying Vader being Vader.

Maybe one of the wires is nearly unplugged? I noticed they don't stay plugged in very well when fiddling the guy into poses and stuff.

I am wondering though, does anyone know what the life expectancy is for those LED bulbs? Has Hot Toys ever mentioned how long they can be on before burning out?

Pretty much exactly 15 inches in total when he's standing on his base.

I have replugged them in the junction box and made sure they are firmly connected. And I have not moved the figure since I have set him up. I am using an external hub that I plug into my laptop whenever I want to see him light up and last time everything was working properly. Only the chest box should have blinking lights. Man man maaan....

Just from my general knowledge high quality LEDs last a really long time, up to 20 years or so. Even low quality LEDs can last 5-10 years. That’s with consistent usage too. If you’re like me you light these up every once in a blue moon, geek out, then turn them off for days lol.

Anyone knows where I can buy another junction box? My Google-Fu has failed me in that regard 😓
It would have to be the exact box that comes with this figure wouldn't it? I don't think any HT USB box from another figure would do as I assume the various functions come from the box? Maybe Sideshow has extras from this figure if that's where you bought it.

So I've went through 4 domes. 2 had noticeable scratches, the other 2 not as noticeable with the bare eye but you can see it if you flash a light on them. They're all the same scratch, 2 lines on the center "forehead" of the dome,.. so I'm convinced pretty much all of these will have this specific scratch if inspected close enough (shine a light on it), with some worse than others. Maybe it's just part of the design? Dunno, I've just accepted it at this point.

I've had mine on nonstop for the past couple days. And then Guillalite mentioned the base and I realized that lights up as well. So I've swapped the usb-c from Vader to the base for now. lol
Vader is kind of like my own personal Christmas tree during the holiday season. I just hope I don't burn out his lights. 😅

I thought mine was fine until I took a closer look with a light.

His right cheek is scuffed as heck, my guess is from the plastic face "protector".
It won't be easy to fix that, since the cheeks have some sort of metallic paint instead of just gloss black paint.
It's nearly impossible to see without shining a light in his face, so it doesn't bother me too much. The helmet at least seems okay on mine.

I think any box from a Vader will work just fine. Doubt HT made design changes to it (except for the usb-c)
No, I mean the boxes would be similar in design but the chip/s inside must be different because of the various functions unique to this figure like the Vader chestbox/beltbox lighting routines and the two types of flickering on the lightning head.

All I mean is that a box from another recent HT figure may not be able to produce those effects so may only be useful to light up the saber only (the most common feature on recent HT figs that include this USB light-up features box.)
