Looks good Natrix! Really good actually. (Maybe not the last picture so much, but the rest does!!! :lol)

If there's one thing I've learned about Sideshow, it's that NO piece is perfect. Don't let the rubs bother you. You could get a 100 replacements and you'll still find a blemish here or there.

Trust me, I know that too. I have had to return way too many defective pieces myself.

I could live with a small blemish or two but it is hard to get good pictures of the poor paint around the inside of the neck.

Maybe I am being too picky but for the price of this thing, I expect more.

I see you point, especially with the price tag. I felt that way too about a few pieces, especially ones with a lot of hype. Then you get it and its the flaws that stand out. :sick

wow !! all of a suden all this diffects are comming out.
I hope mine is perfect.
I heard people saying is not 1:1 well guess what folkes IT IS !!!

remember !!! actors are not larger then life. the armor of Iron man just berly gets over Roberts head and I saw him at some fund raiser and He looked so small. I could kick hes ass very easy with no problem at all.

SO when SIDESHOW / STAN WINSTON SAY is 1:1 it is that scale.

I am really pumped about this bust and I am not going to speculate till I get mine IN HAND.

I couldn't agree with Chapter more you are always going to find some kind of imperfection on every statue you buy depending on how hard you look for it. But I also agree with Natrix my bust also has some of these paint issues and scratches but you really have to look for them, and I think for $700 you are right this thing should be perfect but I honestly think that if everyone looks hard enough at there bust they will find a paint flaw.

Natrix,

Thank you for showing us pictures of yours. From the looks of it, it looks like these are coming in with variety of issues. The worse being paint runs around the mouth and scratches that seem to have been painted sanded after the fact. There seems that these are not as 100% as perfect as we like them to be.

As for mine I noticed right away, very slight minor scratches on the gold part of the face. Inconstant paint application and very rough inside the neck area. And slight shine on the forehead, like someone was rubbing a small spot. Or IM had a shiny oily forehead!
This at first got me thinking, should I complain? For $700 I have to. But then I told myself, look at these pictures! WOW, I will be looking at this just like this from a distance and not with a magnifying glass. The bust is good enough but could have been better painted.

Then I looked at every other IM’s in my collection. Some from BD, some from SS, etc. they all have some minor flaws. This is just the nature of the game. We cant get them to be perfect like we like them to be. They are after all from China, painted by bunch of kids!

So I would say to every one of you that has doubts, if its something you cant live with and it’s major enough then by all means call Sideshow. But if you can leave with the minor issues then keep it.
There are varying degrees ofcouse. I think if there are paint runs between the gold and the red then I would for sure replace it. We didn’t ask for Battledamged version sideshow!

I agree also that no piece is gonna be perfect, there's always something wrong with it if you look hard enough. The pictures that you posted though Natrix looks like they just got sloppy with the paint apps. Unfortunately it's the same with my Rogue Comiquette for example.....I never noticed anything wrong with her until someone on here pointed out something on theirs, then I went to look at mine and noticed the same things. Thankfully they aren't noticeable unless you get right up to it and scrutinize it, so to me that's not enough to warrant a replacement.

I also noticed from your pictures that the roughest paint apps seem to be on the inside portions of it, and those are the same area's on my Rogue that have the roughest spots. It seems like those spots are the hardest ones to paint effectively. So my opinion is this.....I believe you said that from afar it looks great, so I would say that if you can't notice anything wrong with it unless you get right up next to it, then to me that doesn't warrant a return. My fear would be that I would get another one and it would have the same problems, or even worse ones.

So basically if it was me and I couldn't notice anything just looking at it from a normal perspective, I wouldn't go through the hassle of a return. It would have to be a very glaring issue that's very noticeable no matter how you look at it, but of course that's just my humble opinion. If it really bothers you just knowing that the problems are there, then you may want to return it, it's all up to you in the end man. Congrats anyway on getting it, it really does look great.

Natrix... I can honestly say mine doesn't look that bad.

There are a tiny bitck of scratches here and there. The paint blemishes from earlier seem to be frost more then anything (mine wasn't out of the box for 30mins when I took the pics) It might only show up in the picks, because the gold part looks flawless in person. The inside of the shoulder pads seem to be the worse part... and the inside neck line seems sloppy. I stll don't know what is sliding around inside when I move it.

Over all this is fantastic looking in person.. an I am happy with it. But for $700 it should have been better cared for.

I give it a B+,A-

This is exactly what I was afraid of. I think a piece this large was DESTINED to have paint issues.... It's true that every SS piece is going to have it own unique but TINY flaw, but these seems to be much more obvious. And for $700, people are going to want PERFECTION!!! So sadly, I think each piece is going to have these paint issues (no matter how many replacements you get)

My only concern is whether I should try to get this from SS at the high retail of $700 or if I should wait longer, take a chance of horrible paint issues and stick with the piece I got from a seller for $450

You STILL haven't heard from him?

Oh I have. It's just that they haven't received the Bust from SS yet

They're willing to give me a refund if I don't wanna wait, but for the huge discount it's very hard to resist

Oh, well then by all means WAIT! It's definitely well worth the discount in my opinion. As long as you can trust them, then I would be patient and save $$$.

I think we got our busts from the same guy and I wound up filing a chargeback with my credit card because the guy hadn't returned any messages for almost 2 weeks and I was almost to the end of my 60 day limit. Still no word from him, but at least I got my money back

Really?!? Thats sucks

But I don't think it's the same guy. Another member here got one from the same guy, so I dont think he sold 3 busts.....

I wasn't sure if it was the same one or not...

He was really cool about everything until the last few weeks, then he just disappeared. Oh well, guess that goes to show that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. After the live discount, $400 IM = too good to be true. Funny thing is that I still got my cashback reward.

The biggest issue with mine which is hard to capture in pictures is the paint application on the inside of the neck. There is barely any paint in that one area and it looks white which is very noticeable in person. I could live with a minor issue or two but not an area that didn't get painted.
