Curious, if you guys would have to choose only one between the Mark 43 and the Mark 45, which would you go with?

This is one of those that really, you have to go by your own personal choice.
There's a major difference in design and that there is no clear winner cause they are both equally amazing.

I have the 1/6, and my personal reasoning for 43 is that the overly complex design, which I normally dont like, when something looks too busy, but it works on the 43 design. Its amazing to see all these lots and lots of details on this suit.
Add the weight of diecast, and its really really impressive...completely caught me off guard cause I was only getting it after I figured its time to finally upgrade my Mark IV. I didnt expect to get blown away once I had it in hand.

The reason I personally didnt choose 45 is that to me...it has a cyborg look to it. So I prefer the 43 looking more like a mechanical suit.
45 to me, has a closer look to ultron...like an a ultron v1...and then, Ultron eventually evolving to ultron Prime.
But that's just me.
The suit looks amazing though.

So either way, you're golden...it all boils down to which one you think looks better for you.

That's easy for me, the 43 is brilliant and I actively dislike the 45. If they are going that "bleeding edge" direction with the armors from here on out, my collection will end at Hulkbuster. When I see the 43 and 45 figures of various brands together, it looks like Iron Man and Iron Man's knock off anime friend to me. Not a fan.

Quoted for truth!!!

Well, the bleeding edge was a guess by fans. And it started with the 42, and every armor since has been the "bleeding edge" armor.

As for it looking to anime...I totally disagree. Having seen them side by side at shows I don't get that vibe at all. Maybe with a couple of the figures already released(shf and other brands) but not from hot toys figures. The 43 has the great HS. But i like the 45 suit better. It's got the bulk to almost sell the man in a suit idea. It's physically imposing as well. To me the 43 is like his skinny jeans suit. Even so, it is a nice armor. I have the 1/6 and the 1/4 is on order. But I'm also getting both 45 suits as well.

Its too cartoony for me, I don't like the "organic" look to my Iron Man suits. Plenty of people are fans of that stuff from the comics, that's fine, I'm not. So the look is a turn off, the 45 had zero justification for existing in the film (was it a prototype? If so why was it so much more powerful? Why wasn't he using it in the first place then? Why is it such a departure from previous models? A few lines of dialogue could fix this), and on top of that to me the special effects on it didn't even look finished. The 43 and others before it fit their surroundings with the lighting and shaders. The 45 looked CG in a way that unfinished, preliminary effects look to me (like when they show behind the scenes footage of a CGI effect, first there's the wire frame, then there's a wipe and you see solids, then add textures, then lighting, etc, its like it needed that one last step)

A bunch of people and a CGI character, and I'm not talking about Hulk

I loved the film in a way it sounds like most people here didn't, but I cringe when I see the 45. It most ways the figures are an improvement, because they are physical objects in the way the movie can't visually replicate. But I still don't like the look in the first place, and the movie did nothing to win me over to its design, so its not something I'd want on my shelf.

Yeah, I certainly see what you mean. The texturing on the 3D model just had so much sheen on it compared to the other versions. I think possibly they're trying to hint at it not being just an ordinary metallic armour. But the lack of any explanation about the suit bugs me too.

Thank goodness the Hot Toys Mark XLV figures, in both 1/6 and 1/4, look so much better than the armor did in the movie.

the 45 does look weird in the movie in some scenes but in others it looks great, it's like it's too glossy or something when they're in the church, hard to explain
