As long as they get it right. Competition is much tighter now with XM, Iron Studios, and Imaginarium Art all fighting over your money. I love competition.

The 3 you mentioned are companies that produces statues, am I missing something here?

Ok guys and Girls I haven't posted anything in a while regarding Play Imaginative/Comicave Studios 1/4 figures.

It looks like finally for those who are still interested in this botched company the Mark 42 will be released in April of this year. It looks like it will carry the OLD Play Imaginative name instead of the new Comicave name. The retail price is 550.00. They have removed the Pepper Potts head sculpt that was shown off in 2014. They also changed the base which is much smaller than the previous models I own. I also no longer see an actual RDJ face sculpt in the latest pics so maybe they scraped that as well.

I'm guessing that this is the old stock that was produced back in 2014. Most likely they opened all the figures up and re checked for quality picking the best out of the poorly produced ones. They didn't change the Box to reflect the new company name Comicave Studios so that's why I feel this is OLD stock and not a new production run.

With that said I will buy him to round out my 18" tall PI collection. I can now lay the PI name to rest along with the Iron man 3 movie :lol, and any new figures like the Mark 43/45 moving forward will be under Comicave Studios.

These are the latest pictures of what will be included with the figure.

Looks good. I would have jumped on this prior to the Hot Toys 43 being released. The fact that there is a 2" height difference means that I have to wait for the Hot Toys version.

I own the HT Mark 43 and agree he is taller and looks wonderful. That being said I feel I need to round out my PI collection and put an end to the Iron man 3 movie and move on with the HT mark 43 and any other armors HT makes like Mark 45.

anyone here will keep their 1/4 mk 42 preorder? 3 years of waiting and from what I've seen from their photos and specifications on facebook page is only dissapointment

Does this have those animatronics they advertised on the 43?

I have a theory regarding Comicave/Play Imaginative, and I say this as someone who was pretty skeptical of it all starting out. They have a bad history with all the rebranding, but it seems like the last couple of figures have been them producing some stuff that was in heavy development when the company was still PI/Super Alloy, and now they are moving onto different stuff. I say this because the 1/12 Igor and Shotgun figures seemed pretty clunky—very limited articulation and designs that didn't really feel solid/cohesive, as well as the old PI style of packaging. The 1/12 Mark 43 has new packaging and has a totally different body design to allow for better articulation. Perhaps it will be similar for the 1/4 Mark 42 and the upcoming 43. I do have my doubts about CC's ability to deliver on the 1/4 line, but at least 1/12 is looking up.

No animatronics. I don't recall the 43 having them. The 44 did but I don't recall them showing the 43 with it.

Edit-I just pulled up their Facebook. Now I remember what your talking about.

And no, the 42 does not have it.

Here is the accessories

What are your thoughts on the overall size/height of the figure?

The difference in height between the Mk 43 and 42 in that picture is too much.

Yeah, no hope of displaying this right next to the HT. Maybe if they're far apart, or in two different rooms.

It's a pretty large difference. If you don't have it standing straight though the size isn't so different. Like one in the "Hero" landing or what not. But it's a clear difference.

That's actually a great idea!
I think it will be interesting to see a 1/6 Iron Man next to it. I'm guessing it will make this Mk.42 appear closer to 1/5 scale.

At any rate, thanks for sharing pics. :duff
