Thanks Darth! I will have a bunch more to paint soon, and I still have yet to actually get my Obi, Mace or Qui-Gon... So I imagine that when I do... there will be many many pics of the repaints...

I'm really happy with how he turned out though... I couldn't stop looking at him... :D

And I won't be able to either! :D

Couldn't be happier Josh, thanks again buddy and congratulations!

Very cool, nice work SL! :D Love the blaster beam, intense! :D

Thanks, but I can't take credit for the beam. I sampled that out of the screen capture and re-integrated it into its new position.

And SL.... sweet pic.... but oh... so...uncivilized....:lol

I know, I know...it's clumsy and random...

Re: 12" Obi-Wan IMAGE Thread

I have really enjoyed seeing all the repaints posted here. Now I am no artist but since Obi Wan is my favorite SW character, I had to give him a makeover. The sculpt is so amazing.

Here is the first:

And a comparison with the production untouched:

Re: 12" Obi-Wan IMAGE Thread

WooHOO, JohnyBoo!
THAT is one good paintup!
Like it!

I am thinking..."WHY DID I CANCEL MY OBI WAN AGAIN???"
Oh, Jabba the Hutt...
But, I may get one now anyway. This figure is too sweet!
Great work!

And uh, DA, SUPER on your's too!

Re: 12" Obi-Wan IMAGE Thread

I do think I may want to go a little blonder, but I am going to wait and keep looking at him until I decide. This side profile is a little better I think,

Re: 12" Obi-Wan IMAGE Thread

Thank you Les, this was hard because I wanted to be happy with it. He looks good without the repaint because the figure ROCKS!!!!!:chew :chew

You have to get an Obi-Wan, Les. With your talents, it would probably turn out just as perfect as the one that was on display at SDCC.

Re: 12" Obi-Wan IMAGE Thread

Since I'll undoubtedly have a ton of pics for the upcoming Yodasnews.com review (I'll be tackling the duel this weekend), I may as well share another pic in advance.

WOW.....just WOW.....SL....another classic!!

And JB....great work! I think it looks fantastic... maybe a tiny bit more blonde, but only marginal... it's almost perfect as is!

And yes, thanks to such a wonderful sculpt from Andy we are all able to look like superstars!!

Thank you DA, I think your repaint is perfect. Absolutely awesome.

Re: 12" Obi-Wan IMAGE Thread

Thanks for the compliments, guys. So far, most of the pics I've done, Obi-Wan isn't quite coming out right. He ends up looking too much like a toy. :(

And I'll be the first to point this out...the angle in the Tatooine pic...looks like Obi-Wan is using his thumb as a binkie!!! :lol

And JohnyBoo, great job on the repaint. While I don't feel anything needs to be changed with this figure, you made it look better nevertheless. Excellent work!!

Re: 12" Obi-Wan IMAGE Thread

I just got Obi-Wan, and on mine the grey highlights aren't even seeable from a distance, and up close there wasn't much at all, so I'm pleased with that. The hair is still a bit too dark for my taste's, but as more recent pictures have shown nowhere near Anakin's, so I will completely retract all disappointment I expressed.

I do have one thing that is bugging the crap outta me though. Obi-Wan is single handedly the most difficult figure I have ever attempted to pose. If I try to raise his arms to chest level, they practically spring back lower. Sometimes when I try to bend his elbow completely and I'm pushing in on it, his leg springs out to the side. I've never encountered a problem like this before and it's driving me up the wall, after struggling to get a suitable pose for an hour and half I'm giving up until tomorrow before I throw him against the wall. :lol
