Pjam, your version is more accurate than Josh's. Obi's beard is several shades lighter than his hair. Josh, I think you should go even lighter on the beards. The one you did for pjam is pretty much dead-on.

Thanks everyone, and especially Pjam for taking that initial plunge with me!!

And Dave, to explain.... I go by what the buyer wants. Paul wanted it the way I gave it, so that's how it turned out. Recently Khev and Pickard asked me to do one and they wanted it to look near to the one I made for myself, so I ablidged. If I ever get a buyer who wants his to look like the "Pjam Special" I'll do my best.

man....DarkArtist really did a great job on these. The hair, the beard, brings tear to my eyes Great job.

I highly recommend anyone wanting their figures to have that convention curb appeal to contact Josh asap about painting their figures. I'd given up hope of having a cool looking Anakin until he fixed mine. Now my interest in 1/6 scale has been completely rejuvenated. And he's a really decent fellow to boot.

Wow guys!! That's quite the write-up! Bring's tears to MY eyes...

I'm just glad that these are working out for you guys, and that you can have the figure you wanted when you plunked down the cash and waited all that time. It's fun for me, and a little extra collection money.... So I will always be up for more.

Hey Mikey,

I was wondering if you had any plans to add some hair extensions to make Obi-Wan with mullet from AOTC? You did such a great job on Qui-Gon and I'm sure you could use one of your extra Spinal Tap figures to provide the mullet for him. What do you think? You gotta do it!

I only have the one Obi, so probably not, although I'm sure it would work out quite nicely!! AOTC Obi is not my favorite look (and the way his beard changes from real to fake from scene to scen drives me bananas!!), so I don't think I'll be doing this to my own. But if anyone wants it done to theres, feel free to PM me! Same for Qui-Gon. If anyone wants it done, just let me know.

me too!! I find the film almost unwatchable because of it. One scene its real hair and real beard... and he's acting his age... and then the next scene it's completely different fake fluffy beard and fake hair and he's talking and acting like an old man.

Yeah!!! Me too! I kept pointing it out to my fiance... it drives me nuts. I can tell in every single scene. George must have had a LOT for poor Ewan to redo in the pickup shoot. That beard is ATROCIOUS!!!

There's a scene in Phantom Menace where Ewan looks shockingly different from how he does in the rest of the film.

He's in the forest of Naboo talking to Qui-Gon. and it always draws my eye.

His face looks puffier and his skin/make-up looks weird.

That was one of the pick-up shots done months.. possibly even a year after the regular shoot. Ewan gained a ton of weight and it looked like they needed to recreate his hair from scratch. He looked pretty horrible there.

a scene? ...the film is littered with the bloogy things, lol. It's like AOTC... all the reshoots he looks completely different. you're right he had put on weight (was filming a different film at the time) and he had longer hair so it wasnt short and fluffy like it should have been, hence they attempted to 'matt it down' to the right length (which just looks terrible and VERY different) and for some reason they made it a few shades lighter.

horrible horrible horrible (but even though it stands out like a sore thumb, it's still nowhere near as bad as the AOTC changes in his appearence.)

I was very happy when there were no huge differences in ROTS (you can see some if you look... but they dont jump out at you in the same "look!!! i'm looking and acting differnt!!" kind of way)

oh well..... there's still all those cool parts to take you mind of it, lol

Talk about changes in looks... There is a scene in ROTS where Padme looks anorexically horrible. It's bugged the heck out of me, as she looks SO different. It's the scene at her appartment where Anakin and her are having that wonderful dialog:

Anakin: "You're so beautiful."

Padme: "It's only because I'm so in love."

Anakin: "No, it's because I'm so in love with you."

Padme: "No, it's because I've lost 60 pounds."

Anakin: "Yes, it's because you now remind me of Taun We from the planet Kamino..."

Agreed, hunky. That one just stands out to me as particularly noticeable.
