New display base (which I like this time around since it looks like the facility at the end rather the the rubble from the first one), but no Tony sculpt or Cap helmet AND I bet this will be more expensive than the original. That said, this is one of my favorite armors so I'm definitely ordering and selling my MK6.

The best part about this release is that the people who spam Hot Toys posts with “reissue Iron Man Mk 46” can finally stop. :lol

The original Mk 46 is the only Iron Man figure I kept. A re-release felt inevitable but interesting it’s not a straight reissue of the whole set.

I like the new stand but it’s unfortunate for those buying this version that it comes without the head sculpt or Cap’s helmet. But I know people will still be happy to have it regardless.

Rethinking about the stand a bit. This one is better. There is actually a flat spot the figure can stand on, unlike the massive original that was covered in rubble.
And judging by the kneeling pose pic, it looks like the pieces on top of the stand can come apart to have more surface to stand on

Agreed, looks like separate pieces which would make sense. Also easier to package.

I love the Mk 46 but I hate the stand. Never used it. I don’t like the practice of recycling stands. And the massive home plate style stands are just too big to be practical.

I’m glad I kept the original but it’d be nice to be able to get this new stand. But I’m not paying a ton or fighting a bunch of people for it. :lol

Where is the "meticulously crafted based on the appearance of Robert Downey Jr" sculpt? Can't believe I missed that phrase .

For sure. And one of the good things is this definitely doesn't look like a necessary upgrade for those that have the original especially since he doesn't come with the Tony sculpt or the Cap helmet. I'm pretty sure the base is going to sell like hotcakes on eBay. You'll probably have at least a year or more to prepare yourself for that :lol

But I am very happy about this. While we pretty much knew it was coming, there were times when I saw a used one go for "decent" aftermarket pricing that I almost bit just to make sure I would have one. Glad I didn't end up doing that though. I don't usually day one PO anymore but since I've wanted one of these for awhile now (and it's my favorite armor next to the Mk3), I'll definitely be putting my order in as soon as SS puts it up. This and the MK3 are the first times I'm paying full price for an Iron Man figure :thud:Stupid exclusive crap :lol

I have well over 50 Iron Man/War Machine figures and that Armored Unleashed MK2 is still in my top 5. It's just extremely well done back when HT really worked on the little details.

I’ve owned the majority of Iron Man figures and I agree, I also really liked the Mk 2 AU figure. Although it did feel undersized even back then.

But a new Diecast version based on the Mk 3 Diecast 2.0 is inevitable so its time is definitely numbered, at least as far as value goes.

The sad truth here is Hot Toys have realized they can't improve much on most of their diecast Iron Man figures so they are just going to cycle through the popular ones over and over.

They'll reissue it, it'll just be missing half the features, be the wrong color, and will cost $500

They don’t have to. They can just repaint/retool the Mk 3 Diecast 2.0 which luckily for those that want a new Mk 2 will be easier.

But it’ll still be close to $500 though. Although we’re pretty much at that point with the new Mk 3 if you include tax and shipping.
