This looks absolutely fantastic! Hot Toys did some great work with this sculpt and he pairs really well with Thena. When posting yesterday and asking why they made him before Ikaris or Sersi I totally forgot that he was living with Thena, so from that point of view it makes sense to make him first, because it might boost sales for Thena as well.

However, as great as it looks I'm going to pass on this one. While not my favorite film in the MCU, I didn't hate it either, but I'm planning to tone down my MCU collecting. Not just for the (mostly underwhelming) Phase 4 entries, but also my excisting collection. Too many figures have been bought purely for completionists-reasons than actually loving the character.

Anyways incredible sculpt. It's wild they put out stuff like this and then there's Peacemaker.

I don’t get HT, some things they put up teasers for and people get hyped and end up still waiting years later. But they tease Gilgamesh and it’s met by a lot of question marks and then they put it up the next day?? Cool, I guess, now where is Kit Fisto?

Wow.
This reminds me of walking into a toy store in the late 90’s and seeing Mandarin Spawn. I had no idea who the character was but could clearly see this was a huge leap forward in what was possible with action figures. It was really a piece of art.
That’s how I feel seeing this figure. I haven’t seen the movie and only know what I’ve read in this thread but…wow.
This is a work of art! As a collector of action figures, this is really calling to me. But then I would probably need to buy Thena. Stay strong…

It really is a great looking figure. I just don't have interest in figures from the movie even though I quite enjoyed it. This sort of reminds me of the Shuri release where folks wanted other figures from that movie but when Shuri was released when ga-ga over the sculpt and overall quality of the figure. This should be a great figure for those who get it.

This right here is why they made him. Though admittedly I loved the character in the film and really like the actor so I'm getting it anyway. Hopefully this means we may still get an Ikaris tho...

It’s a great figure overall, pretty bare bones accessory wise but that’s hot toys nowadays. I’ve seen the movie once and dont recall what they’ve could have given him extra… Curious why they no longer mention the artists working on this.

I think because people are horrible and started harassing the artists on social media when they weren't happy with the prototypes, Hot Toys stopped listing them. But J.C. Hong and the artists will still tag each other on Instagram when sharing sculpts. This sculpt appears to have been done by Taeho Kang, who appears to have also sculpted Fennec Shand, the Endgame Don Cheadle sculpt, Wenwu, and Falcon Cap - all phenomenal sculpts. Login • Instagram

And I hate to belabor the point, but Shang-Chi went up for pre-order only Six months ago for $20 less and way more stuff.

If Gilgamesh has nothing else to include, then he ought to be a $225 figure.

Well anyway, is anyone doubting this is going on clearance? It has a great sculpt but unless you are planning to get Thena too, it doesn't make much sense. Then besides that, the rest of the line (As in, the most popular characters of the movie) are still missing.

I would get Ikaris and Sersi. After that, Thena and maybe Kingo. Then Gilgamesh after I've already committed to the others.
