can someone school me on pre ordering from sideshow?

i know someone already said that if you pre order it’s random (april-june) even though i would be pre ordering this late.

if i were to do the payment plan does that push it back to the later frame? payments are currently $91 a month if that’s any indication

also how much is shipping to say NYC from them and is there a VAT?

If Hot Toys ships all the figures in one batch it doesn’t matter when you preorder. Now, if they split the shipment of Mark 50s into 2 then yes, the earliest preorders get priority.

Sideshow allows you to preorder using a payment plan and sets up the payments according to estimates release. You only get the figure once paid off. So if you have payments set up from now until May, and the figure releases tomorrow, you would have to pay in full to get the figure ASAP. Otherwise you would get it in May when the payment plan is complete.

I’d usually agree but Mk. II, Mk. IV, Mk. IV w/gantry and low demand for the soon to be released by SSC, the Concept Mk. 46 are all still available.

I’m really wondering if collectors got IM overload. An example is that historically, the Mk. IV had been more popular than the Mk. VI and the DC 6 sold quickly but the “superior” Mk. IV can still be purchased.

I dunno, the market is crazy right now. I still have no idea how someone would pay $800+ for a Mk. 46/47 when the Concept version is almost here. Yeah I get that it’s not movie accurate and as a person who owns every HT IM except 2 armors, I can somewhat understand wanting the 46/47 but that Concept Mk. 46 is so beautiful and was SO close to being in CW (plus the color scheme matches the Mk. III) that I feel people should just buy it instead of waisting money on the OG 46/47.

Yeah, I agree, buy the Mk. 50 right now because you never know what’s going to happen but I had my PO In day 1 :lol

I have the Concept version on order but I still bought the MK 46 a couple of months ago (from a shop, for a lot less than $800). For me the draw was the excellent RDJ head and I think if the concept version came with the RDJ head it would be sold out now. To be honest it's a bit mean of them because the concept Cap comes with interchangeable mouths.

You're right though, I think there is some overload or fatigue. Maybe some of it is because it looks like they won't complete the House Party Protocol now and that injects a lot of uncertainty. It means they could release anything.

Expecting an Iron Man figure to not sell out or dip in price after release is insane. If you want the Mark 50, you better get it while its available for retail.

Well okay, except that last four Iron Man releases can still be ordered on side show at retail. I currently have about 20 IM figures in my collection — I have purchased nearly all of them for less than retail. Just one collectors opinion.

Give it time. The available IM figures will eventually sell out and the the prices will sky rocket. I recall the Mark 46 being available for a while after its release on SSC. Now it's price is ridiculous!

Yea I flip flopped on the 46 a few times, ordered on SSC, canceled later on, etc. I think I then got on waitlist and wasn't sure if it'd convert and then someone on the forum here was looking to get rid of theirs brand new for retail after fees and shipping were concerned so I went with that, shortly after that, prices skyrocketed so I got lucky on that one.

I actually think the release of the accessory pack will create a bigger demand for this figure than originally anticipated. You really need 2 of these to take advantage of the accessory pack. There’s just so many different options.

Howard? Is that you?

Guaranteed Hot Toys will have this out before Endgame releases. They’ll want to ride the hype train and get as many sold prior to them putting the Avengers 4 one up for order.

I just was hoping to see a new IM suit, if he gets a new one at all. Got to decide on an IM fig before Downey is done!

There is no question that there will be a new IM suit. It would be merchandising senpaku not to have one. Im half expecting that a trip to the future will give us a peek at Tonys entire hall, and kick off a whole new HOA line.

For sure prices go up -- the conversation was about the benefits of pre ordering, and the risk of a figure selling out. I can also only think of three figures that have held their crazy high prices for an extended period of time. Eventually they almost always come down, either due to re releases, improved versions, or they simply fall out of favor.

i’m not a comic book reader so this is an honest question and not rhetorical...

but where could he possibly go from the nanotechnology?

Well I'm not saying that he can go further than nanotech, but that aesthetically he change the appearance of his armor. But, in the concept art of the team, he does have the same look as the one in IW.

well i mean is there a higher tech than nano in the comics that we haven’t seen on screen yet that could be used?

I haven’t kept up with the stories recently but I recal something past nanotechnology but it may be too futuristic for the big screen. It may have been in the AOU book - some kind of pure energy suit.

I don't read the comics, but based on a youtube video I saw, the Bleeding Edge was an upgrade to the original nanotech Extremis armor. There was stuff like Thanos Buster, Galactus Buster, Godkiller, etc - but the bleeding edge seemed to be the only one that could "realistically" be in an MCU movie.

If we wanna discuss "realism" perhaps we should talk about how Tony should be DEAD from being stabbed by Thanos lol.

He should have been dead in the 1st Iron Man when he fell out of the sky in nothing but a sweater wrapped with metal and hit hard enough to destroy everything he had on :lol

Main reason i watch any of these movies is the lack of realism. If i wanted realism i would watch a documentary on farming.

This is true. The entire MCU is built on lies...LIES!!! :panic:

I was a huge fan of iron man growing up. But that scene in the last movie where he goes to kill his nephew who is sleeping in a tent really put me off to the whole MCU.
