It was never in Avengers, it was just mentioned when the introduced IP. I hope they use this in Avengers 2.

There is a comic prelude to IM3 that kind of explains why he wasn't in the avengers, but I was curious to know if he shows up like on the blu ray in concept designs, there has to be basis to this since even the lego sets had this version.

Finally opened mine up tonight--a big difference in weight compared to the other Iron Man figures. When I took the figure out of the packaging I felt like I did when I got the Hulk. There's no way to really understand the weight and feel of the figure unless you've got it in your hands. I took my Mark VII out of the Hall of Armor to put War Machine in it and the Mark VII feels like a cheap toy in comparison. After getting this figure I would gladly upgrade a few of my previous Iron Man figures to die cast versions. Very happy with it and luckily did not have any QC issues.

The IM3 art books features several concept designs for WM Mk2, much more than what you see for Iron Patriot. There's even a concept painting of it parked outside the diner next to the Mark 42 if I recall correctly. Seems like the idea for Iron Patriot came in after designing WM Mk2.

Opened mine tonight. Wonderful figure, the weight is definitely noticeable and the finish is absolutely gorgeous on it. The paint is scratched up in several places on mine, tends to stand out more since this paint job is so clean and new looking.

I also have the stripped screws and my on/off switch is broken on the chest reactor lighting. It was not even glued or set to the plastic back on the torso. Will have to contact sideshow on Monday to get a replacement.

Overall excited for the die cast line, I have no worries sideshow will take care of the body so not sweating it. But anyone who has him definitely open it up and test the lights and covers for the batteries.

After watching Paul's review I broke down and bought this figure at a nice price on ebay(of all places). I had no intentions at all of getting this but the paint work and the articulation on this piece is amazing!! Can't wait to put this next to my mark vii.. Just decided NOT to grab the mark 42 now because this the wm2 was not in my budget. Will be totally happy with this

I concur with the gents, markecho -- that's a very neat Marvel display. You could also try putting Wolverine on the shelf together with Ghost Rider and Punisher for a Hearts of Darkness comic tribute

Finally caved and bought this guy after you hearing everyone rave about the figure and diecast in general. I hate you guys.

I actually sold my Mark VII because it felt too cheap to me in hand. Maybe diecast will be the way to go.

How far down do the feet pull out?
It says on the instructions that they do but I don't feel much give in them.

Eventhough it may be defective, it's still sad to see it like that. I have respect to that channel and i'm subscribed to them. But we're we came from you could atleast used the money to the people who really in need. Rather than destroying it for a replacement. I probably don't understand why. But seeing it destroyed and knowing how much money is that figure cost. Atleast sell it and put it to charity instead. No offense to them. Just my opinion. Tc!
